The XBox iso format Part 1
So you have installed XBMP (XBox Media Player) you have got some DivX or XviD
files that you want to play, what do you do now.
The easiest way is to transfer the avi file to your XBox HDD, using FlashFXP and select it in XBMP. Easy. A more difficult approach (to set up, but not to run) is to stream the media from your computer. In this instance you don't need to copy the avi file from your desktop to your XBox. Instead the file is played from your desktops HDD. Very useful. My preferred way however is to create XBox iso's containing the files I wish and burning them to DVD. The problem is that once I have burnt the XBox iso onto a DVD it can't be read in a computer anymore. The solution for this is to add ISO9660 compatibility to the iso. Once this process is completed then both a PC DVD-Rom Drive and an XBox DVD-Rom drive will be able to read the created DVD. Very handy.
To do this you need the latest version of xISO.

Select Add files to xISO:

Browse for the folder containing the files you want to put on the DVD. Note you cant select individual files from within a directory you have to select the whole thing so you may have to make a new one containing just the files you want to burn. Once finished go to Tools and select Add ISO9660 compatibility to XBox ISO:

xISO will then ask which iso to add the compatibility to. Job done!
The only thing I advise, is that this method is not fool proof and I always check that the iso can be read on a PC before I burn it. To do this see if the resulting iso can be opened in another iso reader program such as IsoBuster:

All you need to do is select the open folder button as shown below and see if IsoBuster can read the contents of the iso.

If it can open the iso (i.e. you see a list of files and/or folders) then the iso is fine to burn, if an error is reported then xISO unsuccessfully added ISO9660 compatibility. If at first you don't succeed try, try again!
