 WEAVED WEB

tangled web we weave
thoughts jumbled in the mind
feeling lost and full of grief
solace will I find?

strands of time
workings of entrapments
hidden scrutiny pined
alluring fulfillment

strum on the web
hear music of the harp
lull to dreams in bed
comforted in the dark

SPIDERS CROWN

As the galance of mystery,
sieges its nest.
Upon a golden carved,
rocky cliff crest.
This woman of beauty,
in stance so domine.
Shies ready for her army,
to attack the regime.

Her posture of strength,
such radiance and bold.
With a gown of violet,
of shiny lengthy folds.
Her hair darkened red,
so wavy as it plays.
Wearing a head garment,
of silver it lays.

She waves her hands,
in motion to the web.
With words of motivation,
such power she says.
"I bring you these gifts,
of others of weak.
So now my dear spiders,
go forth and conquer thee".

While standing so straight,
she opens her hand.
And says" You must crush them,
for this I demand".
While quenching her fist,
her army marches on.
She knows shies the Queen,
for she wears the Spiders Crown.

MYSTICAL WEAVER

Alone she stood, and cast her silk,
her spinning was done for this day.
She'd woven and spun, and hopes t'will work
To catch a fair prince 'tis the way.

She'd read the spell out of a book,
An old novel passed down through the ages.
To her chagrin, this page she was in,
was the cleanest, pristinist of pages.

Generations before her had found their mate
Never needing a potion or spell.
Just to be someones wife would be such a life!
And mate-seeking had become her hell.

To her chagrin, she had just begun,
And managed to snare more than one.
Life's not fair, she lamented, and then she relented
I've got two on the shelf when I'm done!

Weave mystic and magic, she scribed to the page
That now looked as worn as the rest.
When her children receive this book of spells,
Their paternity will be put to the test!

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

A curse upon you there shall be
until you're dressed in white
hidden from civilization
no one will know of your plight.

You'll never escape this dungeon
it's worthless to even try
surrounded by earth you will stay
here is where you shall die.

Imprisoned in a cellar of hard packed dirt
full of spiders and it smelled of mold
her gown of purple her only defense
to keep her from becoming too cold.

The princess knew she had to work fast
or surely she would run out of air
just as she started to dig at the walls
she felt something sticky all over her hair.

Trying to pull away she found herself
stuck to this web like glue
behind her was lurking the spider
who had been waiting for something new.

The spider began to spin his web
a white veil that covered her dress
he told the princess of his plan
to free them both from this horrible mess.

Long ago the witch cast a spell
condemning him to life under ground
she said that a princess could save him
if he could find one just laying around.

Well here I am, the princess said
but how can I help set us free
there is no way to beat this curse
the spider said, put your trust in me.

Spinning his web all over her gown
until the princess was covered in white
then a doorway appeared out of nowhere
filling the darkness with light.

Side by side the couple emerged
beads and white silk replaced her gown
the spider transformed into a handsome prince
and the witch flew quickly out of town.

The ending is common for most fairy tales
they lived happily ever after, tis true
but I wonder if before she kills a spider
she says, honey, just checking, is it you?

SPIDERWEBS OF DAWN

In early morning solitude,
To this place I'm drawn,
While all the world is sleeping,
Down the winding stairs a-creeping
As the morning sun comes peeping,
And view complex simplicity,
In the spiderwebs of dawn.

Sinister, woven deathtraps,
Invisible yesterday,
Stumbled on without warning,
Now a silver world of morning,
Glittering drops adorning,
Dressed in liquid crystal dewdrops,
A glistening display.

Scintillating rainbows on wind's
Waking breath are found.
Memories deflecting,
Fragile webs inspecting,
Inverse images reflecting,
In each tiny drop detected,
A world turned up-side-down.

Praise God for serendipity,
He causes to exist,
Joy and beauty sharing,
Imaginings ensnaring,
At jeweled webs stands staring,
A wayward, weary wanderer,
In such a place of rest.

THE PREY

In a winter of silence she stood
Feeling as the prey
Of a spider's delicate web.

WEB OF LIFE

Silvery, silky threads of life
and death to those who are careless
A home to the spider princess
A trap for hapless insects

Carefully crafted circle
woven like a delicate sail
invisible curtain, waiting
to trap her prey without fail

But to some it's a work of art
Simply a masterpiece of nature
A circle with no end or start
and home to a living creature

WEBS OF INSPIRATION

Your spoken words spun to perfection
As a spider would spin his web
Entangling his prey
So your words entangled me
Surrounding me completely
The work only a master can create
For you truly are a master of words.

You spun your glistening web
Seducing me all the while
With words filled with tenderness
Spoken from your heart to mine
I found myself entangled completely
Allowing you to surround me
Welcoming you into my life
Mesmerized totally
By your sincerity and your caring
Unable to no longer free myself of you
I succumb to the reality
Of the effect you truly have on me

Believing your words ring as true as mine
Surrounded by this cloak of love
Which you have spun so meticulously
I now spin my own web of words
Not to capture , nor to enslave
For to love is to set one free
I spin my web with words of prose
For all of mankind to see

If they so choose my company
To sit upon this web of mine
As I spin my tales of days gone by
Of feelings felt and thoughts provoked
Let my words then also speak
From my heart directly into theirs
The way yours have spoken to me
With honesty and sincerity
But, let them also hear
As I too have heard
The deeper words, left unspoken here

Allow them to contemplate as I have done
Search deep within their inner souls
Find the strength which lies within
Becoming empowered as never before
Free of all the chains which bound them
As inhibitions slowly melt away
Realizing only you yourself
Have the power
To enslave your spirit or set it free!

THE WEB OF LIFE

As time goes on
Each strand of the web
Laced carefully together
Makes a latch of life

Each strand a step
A step of what has been
Or a step to be taken
Weaving one's life

Some weave a tangled web
Others weave one smooth
Filled with continuity
Others in great disarray

One strand may mark a death
One may mark a birth
One a Love found and lost
One, at last, a soulmate found

Weave carefully the web of life
It tells the story of your life
Strand by strand it builds
The story quietly unfolds

FATE'S WEAVING (OR, SHE KNOWS THEE)

standing tall amongst the endless garden of light and dark.
this velvety robed being, with luminous celestial bodies.
yet showing birth, death, and shadowed black stars,
cascading endless around her.

she is regally poised and still,
yet a breathing life of brilliance
surounded by silence, by silent music
that speaks louder then words
or vibrant thought.

her face, timeless and ageless in beauty, with
wild stars streaming from her hair, softly framing.
her eyes, deep pools of seeing far beyond
the beginning and middle.
yet shinning with both joy and sadness.

her hands on the loom of substance.
nimble fingers long and slender with grace to spare,
whisking deftly the delicate silk thread of life,
with care and knowledge.
only their movement gives and takes Time.

seeing all.
hearing all.
knowing all.
saying naught.

for this is the times keeper.
for this is the weaver of times silken web.
for this is the mother of birth, and death for all.
for this is fate.

She knows thee!

POETIC REFLECTION POETIC

In a cave filled with
Candlelight stands in
Quiet contemplation a Poetess...

In her mind drift thoughts
Captured in a Web Woven by a Wizard she
Questions her very being as time passes...

In a place between dark and light she
Catches a glimpse of a Knight in
Quite reflection upon a picture painted...

In that fleeting moment when two souls meet
Confession unspoken but all too
Quickly departed like a phantom...

In silent reverie she smiles
Contentedly as she drifts into a
Quite calm and in her minds eye pictures...

Ink spilling on scribble whilst
Candle sends a flickering shadow as
Quill in hand writes the Poet on parchment...

ARACHNID'S GIFT

Long ago, somewhere in time,
Before the clock struck a dawning's chime
Her royal court, the spinnerets,
Offered threads without regrets.

Her fingers nimble, working fast
This silken tapestry, would be her last
Knowing, that this life she must leave
She labored steadily and did not grieve

And with the dawning of the sun
She took the web to be hung
A delicate finery made by she
For all our eyes to behold and see

A gift of life she wove that night
And now it shines in morning's light
Tears of mourning dew lies upon her art
She gave her gift with a loving heart.

Perhaps now, when a web you see
You will realize, it's a gift from her majesty!

FATE'S HANDS

Three together chart the path,
the lives we than are woven.
Fate abounds with in their hands...

Sweet Lachesis, youthful flowering,
childhood fancies follow in her wake.
Treasures of the past she holds,
a measurer of dreams.

Clothos' gleaming, whirling wheel,
the spinner at her best.
Turning, twisting, taming treads so surreal.
Creating than, the very fiber of our beings.

Fear the loathing Atropos,
gnarled hand from frazzeled hag.
Stretching, thinning, life's sweet thread.
Making ready for the cutting.

UNTITLED

Shaping her world strong, yet defined
She reaches beyond
The usual space
Allowing emotions to traverse, escape
Yet whom does she weave for
So silent, so fine
A dream and a whisper
A phantom, beguiled
For dark in the recess
Of a heart that's grown cold
Lay the heat and the passion
Of a love growing bold
She's no comprehension
That the web she now weaves
Holds all the answers, of the secrets he keeps
Weaving her web silent and fine
Shaping her world,
As yet undefined.

WISDOM'S WEB

Many facets of this life,
Reflected by moon’s glow,
Bringing images to light,
So many scenes to show.

Each delicate strand,
Of the web woven fine,
Painting portraits grand,
Traveling back in time.

Carefree days of childhood,
Laughter of my youth,
Waltzing into womanhood,
Thirsting for life’s truth.

Wisdom that becomes me now,
Though oft I am not sure,
Marks my path through sun and cloud,
A guide to what is pure.

WE WEAVE...WE LOVE

A woman fair weaves a web
for all humankind
using threads of passion
in a daring fashion

She feels the connection
with all she meets
weaving threads of power
amongst midnight hour

With links of laughter
and tears and pain
she spins many hearts
not to be pulled apart

Moonlight pathways
show them the way
into days of sunshine
on love they are to dine

An internet she weaves
around people to hold
to intertwine their life
not with tears or strife

Dazzled eyes have become
with hope of eternal love
finding truest friends
wishing joy to ammend

Touching the world over
interlacing thoughts
she weaves a shiny web
giving each day its ebb

Pain comes and goes
yet love survives
above any sorrow
always we see tomorrow

We bare our naked soul
touching across the web
all the words we cherish
our care will never perish

With words days are set
written as poetry
passions met in prose
Kissed by a cyber rose

TANGLED

silken threads
softly held in my fingers
like befuddled thoughts
cherished memories linger

GOD'S GARDEN

She has harvested her days
And feeds upon their many wonders

Entwined in her vision lie her loves
All secure in the webs of her life

The three wonders of her world
All a gift placed unexpectedly in her heart

They live - they laugh - they love
And the sunlight dances in their eyes

Hmmmm...the sensation of touch...she smiles
Knowing the sweetness of skin touching skin

The ties that connect their souls tickle her mind
Her toes wiggle at words that live between them

Life is good-life is what the winds blow your way
What you let inside-and catch with your breath

Reach out and grasp at your dreams....just believe
In this tangled world so many forget to seed

SALVATION

humanity's goddess stands
shrouded with'n her milieu
of dinosaurs, webs, obscenes,
clutter and soft hues

mother earth casting her spell
by the doorway of redemption
clothed in the shame of dark
cloaked in the grace of salvation

NIGHTTIME AVATAR

In a dark cavern her web she is weaving,
Gossamer filaments, soft yet so strong.
Softly she murmurs, "It's man's disbelieving,
That has set me to this, all my life long."

She hums to herself, completely contented,
Knowing her place in the world is ordained.
This is her purpose, for she has consented.
She's the keeper of dreams, and here she'll remain.

Working the nightlong while mankind is dreaming,
Plaiting the threads of slumb'ring reveries.
Apart in her grotto, the candles agleaming,
She weaves dream visions with consummate ease.

Midnight hour visions that follow our waking
Providing insight to things we must explore.
Possibly solutions she is providing,
Resolving conflicts that wear on our souls.

Furnishing concepts of good and evil,
Guidance to help make us more than we are.
Dominion o'er selves to face life's upheavals,
Our tender and giving nighttime avatar.

A WEAVERS WEB

You sit by your window with the bright light
From early morning til late into the night

Staring out that window you see into others
Your cunning ways you peek over shoulders of many authors

You fill your gullet with gossip that you will spread
Stripping the innocent and tearing them to shred

Now you start the weaving of your devious web
I for one see though that golden dirty cobweb

To some you are so cute and oh so very funny
But for me you are just one big phoney

Day by day you only weave the parts you like
Then making up the rest in a forceful strike

Is your life so boring for you to be weaving all those lies?
I'm sure at some point now someone will put you wise
Stolen _Tear©

LIFES WEB

Oh! what webs are woven
In this life of love and war
Lots of hearts are stolen
Some are near and some are far

A heart tangled in the web of love
As sticky and clinging as it may be
Has to ask for help from above
Or, it will die by the raging sea

So beware of webs in your life
Some are good and some are bad
Strength from above, you have to strife
When its too late, you realize what you had.

INTRIGUE

Forethought brings life to a smirk
While skilled fingers weave tethered strings;
And in selfish admiration of her scheming work
She ponders affectations the future brings.

Her hunger for shame shall lurk unstilled
While travesty flows untamed;
Will everything happen, for she so willed?
Until the last of her quarry is shamed?

Relentless is the flow of her silky strands
Forming a manipulating web of lies;
And strand by strand of woeful bands
Will soon cover the most trusting eyes.

Damn this wretched wench of social sin,
While she stalks the boundries of illusion,
Devouring friends, like foe and kin,
Just to gloat in shadows of seclusion.

May her debauchery feel the wrath
Of all those writhing in pain;
For some will see her webs beside every path
With the eyes of a heart...
No one can blame.

THE WOMAN OF THE WEB

She cast a web or so it seems
To capture the creatures of her dreams
Her fingers then did work a spell
To turn the creatures to frogs as well
No longer would they haunt her nights
With the torment of unspeakable frights
Bound to a diet of bugs and flies
No longer will they spread their lies
It's for water that they will yearn
And a few of life's lessons they will learn
Shadow Whysper©

THE DREAM WEAVER

She weaves and weaves
her strings of gold
weaves them into a pattern
where stories unfold.

Mystical maiden
storyteller at night
spinning stories
of happiness and fright.

She waits for you
to close your eyes
and then she weaves
a web of suprise.

Do not fear the secrets
she will unveil
because in your dreams
you will always prevail.

TENDING

A silky
Existence
You create
And weave
Satiny and homespun mazes
Shine
With primrose
Colors in the sun
Morning dew drips slowly off
Unaffecting the arduous work
The labor and promise
Remains
Capturing life in its
Glorious web
C0ast©

DREAM WEAVER

In the shadows
In the darkness
Where the things unknown lay
Is a weaver
Weaving is her passion
Her desire
It's all she knows
On and on she weaves
Not ever knowing day or night
Her food
Her strength all
Come from the light
She is happy and truly content
Neither embracing wrong or right
Her creation is strong and yet oh so fragile
The design is continuous
Each level a completed circle denotes growth
Changes
Yet on and on she stays focused and weaves
Such devotion comes from the Divine
For if you didn't know it
She is the Divine's weaver of dreams
So you see on and on
She weaves fulfilling a dream
Each connection she makes
So dream your dreams
Dreamers mine
And wait
For tis only a matter of time before
The design of your dream has been fulfilled
And completed just as you dreamed

CHARLOTTE'S WEB

Allday, everyday busy as a bee
With crystal clear thread
Legs working as crotchet hooks
Swift and perfect each stitch
Carefully placing each precious thread
Into the delicate pattern
Repeating this pattern over and over
Tracing it's intricate design
So intriguing to the eye

HOMEWORK

Darkened corridors loom before her minds eye
Twisting, turning but offering her no alibi
Deeper into the depths of memories past
She stumbles and staggers but still steadfast

Forgotten nightmares gather to stand in her way
Challenging so her judgment they might sway
But deeper into her thoughts she does descend
Till cobwebbed corners say she has reached the end

Desperate within herself she starts to fight
Willing to grasp any straw leading to the light
Too late, now faced with reality she cant quit
So she tells the teacher "Sorry my dog ate it?"

LOVES TANGLED WEB

As I watch you play your harp of lies
Once again I come to the same conclusion
That a part of me with each note dies
Once I am snared in your web of illusion

The creatures speak your prose to deplete me
When my weakness for you they sense
Tangled and desperate unable to break free
Against your words of prey I have no defense

Please release me from your grasp so tight
It is my mind and heart you hold without care
Gazing upon my torment with undisguised delight
As I writhe in unanswered loves despair
~SultryWind~©

WEB OF INTRIGUE

Here I am the prey in your web,
A morsel to be eaten --
And nothing more said.
A scrap for your plate,
A wonder to digest,
Another insignificant conquest.
They look at me and pity,
I look back and weep,
I wait here to die--
As they go to sleep.

DECEPTION

With blind faith we give sincere love,
Giving all of ourselves we must.
With a child-like grace we open up,
We give our hearts with an open trust.

Then comes one hurting those needlessly.
With promises they dont intend keep.
Deception has came once again,
To lulled their mind to sleep.

By the weight of a persons word,
As a spiders weight test its weave.
Sometimes people give in folly,
Words of deception well practised to deceive.

But like the thin thread of the spiders web,
Eventually the deceptions will be told.
That trust will be tested day by day,
The shameless deceit shall unfold.

Many have weaved their webs of lies.
Just as a spider does.
Pretends to be something its not.
Nor will ever be or ever was.
-TeJah- aka Queen.Amethyst©

TANGLED WEB

Often times our brain is fed
By bouncing thoughts within our head
Thoughts of passion...thoughts of romance
Within our head these thoughts dance

Often... these thoughts within
Into reality they will extend
On the 'web' we all pretend
Some want love and some a friend

But the truths of life will always come out
This is a fact.....there is no doubt
No matter the lies to try and deceive
The truth will be what is believed
mwm©

THE TANGLED WEB

A tangled web around you grows,
And where it stops, no one knows.

Truth and honesty cannot be found,
Lies and deceit seem quick to abound

Spin a web of lies and you will see
That this is not a good place to be.

Those webs will catch you in your spinning
And you will see there is no winning

For any person who hurts a friend,
With games of the heart that have no end.

Losing trust creates wounds quite deep.
It causes the heart and soul to weep.

Friends that are hurt become friends that are lost,
So please do not ask them to pay that cost.

Yes, "what a tangled web we weave
When first we practice to deceive."

It's just a cliché and it may seem trite
But try to avoid it with all your might.

Be true to yourself in all that you do
And especially to those who believe in you.

LYRICS

I hear your music as it fills the air
I smile as I remember those who doubted you
You are slow to rise and then no one can compare
But a word of caution take a breath before you pursue

Be safe as you continue your journey
The dangers are not easy to avoid
The words may be construed as written crudely
But your soul speaks the to fill the void

Look past the music and hear the lyrics
That everyone has inside their heart
The the words you play speak to your critics
Remember you are not Mozart.
