I walk across the desert sand
searching all of the barren land
looking for the one true love
the princess that has yet to come.

I wade clumsily through the sand
while holding in my hands
all of the passion fruits
reserved for my love so true.

I've been tracking my own steps in the sand
realizing my search is but a sham
knowing I've been too blind to see
the princess who's been guiding me.

Feeling swallowed up by the hot desert sand
nothing will ever stop this man
from showing love and living a dream
and turning my princess into my queen.

Lately my emotions have seemed to lose
a grip on solid land
As the winds of friendship slither under me
and my feet sink in shifting sand
All that I thought I had seen
a mere mirage in my mind
As I reached out to another
they did things to me unkind
I offered my heart as an oasis
as they drank my feelings dry
And as they laughed and left me deserted
Oh, the tears I began to cry!
I opened my heart to a friend in need
and they dishonored it with lies
And now my heart is being filled

To bud
and then to full bloom.

The revel, the joy, the mating of souls
The tears
The sadness
when it ended too soon.

The heart torn apart, dying from thirst
Darkness
Emptiness
days lost without care.

Slowly, we come to a halt
Miles of time behind us.
Sweat dripping, tasting of salt.
Feeling parched and covered with dust.
We wait.

Ahead, the most beautiful site.
Appearing before our eyes
Taken us carefully to unknown heights
We grasp the beauty with an unquestionable thirst.
Again, we wait.

How can such a place exist?
Here on the dessert dry.
Inching our way as the camels persist.
A paradise before us, must we ask why.
We are moved.

Alas, a mirage, so wondrous an illusion.
Filled with an array of beauty, hope and love.
Although, its just an oasis, a delusion
From reflections of light from above.

Surrounded
by nothingness
Barren wastelands
stretching onward
past the horizon

Accosted
by unending heat
Shifting sands
dancing hypnotically
before my eyes

Blinded
by eternal hope
An Oasis
shimmering magically
in the distance

Lured
by its beauty
The Promise
of fulfillment
beckons me onward

Lost 
in this hell
My Soul
seeking to assuage
this undying thirst

At the apex, gazing across these white sands,
To where love's journey ends
And begins again.
In this moment that is deathly still.
There is no sound but the beating of two hearts,
Yearning to be one.
And so this secluded oasis becomes love's respite.
A virtual paradise granting us refuge.
     For a time, our only sojourn.
We have crossed the sands of time.
Two travelers seeking peace, and tranquility.
A place for us to be and to love,
For whatever time the fate's allow.

Upon ships of the desert
Two silent riders do approach
As looking down from the great dune
At last to come upon some hope
Hidden among the dunes
Where a quite breeze blows
Across the white sands of time
Stands a green shining oasis
The long trek across the burning mile
Rest for them will come
But knowing not what awaits them
A journey of hope
Not ending in despair
With gladdened hearts they approach
Knowing not what is ahead
The look of paradise
Lush palms...
A single dwelling stands
We they be greeted with friendship
Or would there be woe
Across the burning sands
Into this New World

Like the waves of the ocean
Flowing and churning
Moving ever changing
An ocean of sand
Drifting closer to paradise
So close
Yet so far away
As the setting sun
Across the blur sky
Reflections upon the sands
Like sunlight on the sea
It's magenta cast
Day after day
So close
Yet so far away
And brings ever closer
And nearer yet further
To the bright new day

Sliding down the waves
The waves of sand
Paradise... that paradise

Purple haze
Of purple sorrow
Wandering in a purple world
Snow hills of sand
What appear to be
Confused camels
Lost in a purple sea
But in the shadows
Is the purple people eater
Lost travelers
On camels
about for safety
Seeing a mirage
Of purple trees
Reaching for the goal
To shout olly olly oxen free
But without knowledge
Of the purple missiles
That hide within these trees
They ride on to their doom
I shall wear them down
With my blistering look
Said the captain of the team
While his silent partner
Came down with the purple disease
I'm melting melting sir
Tell me what's wrong doctor
The partner did cry
Becoming delirious
In last stages of purpleness
He clicked his heels
and asked for toto
And finally the captain
With his purple thinking cap
Figured out the solution
You scare them with your foolish ways
Right into my mighty hands
And I will crush this purple land
Between my very fingers
And finally we both shall be free
From this purple nightmare oasis

Evening comes
like a sentinel switching of the guards
where shades of lavender
swirl through the desert plain.
Shadows dance, take shape
rejoining with ebb flow into the still, black night.
Purple hues smoothly color the tranquil land.
Warm air blows, shifts and free flows
in vain it carves it's path
etching greedily into an inseparable dusty sea.
Weary travelers seek for shelter
eyes cast onwards, upwards, scouring the terrain
At last , sanctuary found in
a paradise lost to all those but
the sand dried, exhausted adventurers.
Oasis or facade, who can know
unless they journey the path less traveled
and search for Paradise Lost.

Traveling over the desert sands
Time sifting slowly through your hands
Many thoughts going through your head
As you pray that you won't end up dead
The heat sucks all the energy out of you
Hypnotized by the monotonous view
You sway with the movements of your mount
Over the dunes too numerous to count
Just when you think you've lost all hope
Your soul searching for a way to cope
You reach the top of the highest rise
A wondrous sight greets your eyes
There in the distance lies your salvation
Astounded by this revelation
You realize the most important thing
Even in the worst times, your soul can sing

Nomad tents blanketed the oasis from end to end
And scimitars could be heard playing upon the wind
It was their exotic beat that lifts then draws you in
As if they promise delights of sweet heavenly sin
The smell of water caused my camel to race
While it was the music that had set my pulses pace
Once inside my camel fed and watered, I unpack
Then searched out this source of musicale aphrodisiac
Cloaked in veils of red and gold she moved in dance
I entered the tent thinking that with her I had no chance
As she twirled before me I removed veils one by one
As my blood boiled at the thought of the enticing fun
First an arm then a leg as her skin came into view
The dance was speeding up as were the veils too
Light headed was I when soon her midriff was bared
All I could think of was taking her last veil if I dared
To soon my decision was made for me, I felt like dying
The mirage had ended to soon and now I feel like crying
