calm
before the storm.

Clouds

darken

Rains
downpour
turmoil

Winds
threaten
destruction

promises
survival

The ruins of my life are crumbling
and I shove them over the edge
To be cleansed by the waters before me
as I stand on this new land's ledge
The mountains I've climbed are no longer
for I stand on their pinnacle's peak
And I gaze at the roads I have traveled
knowing I am strong where I once was weak
The light of the sun surrounds me
to burn off the clouds of my strife
And brightens the path before me
as I venture into my new life
The green of the land calls to me
as I leave behind the rocks and stone
The birds sing songs of rejoicing

Oh, Mountainous region,
such beauty unfolds.
Softly a Rainbow glides
through the milky-mist
foam.
It's translucent glow
drapes the growing terrain.

If ever my soul-
on Earthly domain
could glimpse of such
delightful enchantment,
not brought forth from a
mythical illusion-

If only I could-
with natural eyes
be hold such beauteous grandeur-
gaze upwards,
transfixed upon the celestial
vision.

If only..
'Tis my fear that:
if beheld,
my heart shall surely fade
into a moment of permanent
tranquil rest.

Yet, In truth,
only in heaven's presence,
beauty this compelling
should beguile me to sleep

Crashing waves
Creating a sonic boom
As they rush over the cliff
Into the misty steam
Yet never hitting the rocks
That should lie below

Images of past  mountains
And land lost long ago
Falling victim to the forces
That push this water's edge
Evil tendencies
Bringing an end to the life
That once found home within
The peaceful river
That has turned to raging falls

Trees grow
Full of life
Rooted between boulders
Strangling its source
Soon to turn brown with disease
Waters flowing
Constantly eroding
Away what once was there
Flooding the earth
In global conquest

A rainbow overhead
In one solid color
Offering ironic welcome
To those it has pushed over
Upon the water's edge
And when life is no more
Pushed by the evil forces
And welcomed by magenta skies
Stained with dying tears of blood
All that shall remain
Are the crashing waves
Of a peaceful river
Turned raging falls of death

As natures music  engulfs and surrounds me
I draw a deep breath and
the birds in the trees
and the other forest animals are
scurrying to their appointed jobs
and of course the Falls
the ever cascading and
washing of the river.
The tension drains from me
and i relax.
as i watch the water
race along its appointed path
I sense your arrival
your strong arms encircle me
holding me close.
I longingly  gaze at the mountain and
a rainbow like no other forms
across the falls
it is a sign all is well.
no words are necessary
our minds are one
our private thoughts we share inwardly
I marvel at the rightness
and feel of it all
I am overwhelmed
with the emotion of it all
and tears of joy flow gently down my cheeks

The place where all my ideas of paradise are cast

This place where pain and worries are welcome not
It hides behind a mighty gate of living light and air
Keeping us out through life till we have paid the fare
From their body and into the light some souls might reach
Thinking that this barrier they might be able to breach
But cast back to earth they who still have a price to pay
