PRESENCE FELT

This is the place wherein you dwell.
Nature’s wonders all around.
You seem as one unto the land.
This is the home your heart has found.

You restored your peace within yourself.
You set your spirit free;
and when I gaze on scenes like this,
I feel you here with me.

ROSE COLORED GLASSES

How I love my rose colored glasses
I'm so glad you found them for me
I thought they were lost forever
I'm so happy that now I can see
What a beautiful world that I live in
The clouds have a rosy hue
They even tint my mountainous past
and bring the flowers into full view
See how the waters of life sparkle
As their droplets freshen my sight
Even the shadows of dark are colored
With roses of stained glass light
Thank you, my love, for these glasses
You've given so much to me
Love and life and laughter
From you, has set my soul free

ROO VALLEY

The joy of the mountains has always been
A pleasure of infinite rarity.
The snow clad peak, the mountain lakes
The flora in all its majesty.
And we have found "our" special place,
The lake, the creek and fields of green
All filled with life and laughter sweet
As you and I enjoy nature's scene.
The place is real, we go there now
Our Roos, Echidna's, Emu's to see
And the joy I find in all these things
Stems from the love of my own Emmarie

TOGETHER AS ONE

pristine cradled calmness
still waters so pure of thought
the nurturing mistress of my soul
to drown in your world ,I adorn

shores crowned in natures complexion
spring flowers kissed by summer winds
halo misty mornings reflecting your smile
lips quenching my thirst for love
your waters edge weeps at my feet

I hold you aquatic mistress
inside my barren hearts walls
granite rock walls, from many lone lonely years
cold and gray, old and worn, I have become
at your waters edge I slowly creep

once I stood so proud, filled with youth
fearless of any conjecture of celibacy
now,, I am,, humbled, scared and torn... by
harsh winters of solitude, storms of obscurity
your waters edge tenderly warms my sleep

each piece of my being I submit
into your state of belonging
away from my turbulent existence
awaiting time, I slip deeper into your serenity
at your waters edge we gently weep
at your waters edge we celebrate life
 ...together as one

SUNRISE

The sun kisses my face
The mountains sparkle and gleam
with new growth
soft green growth all the way to the top
the splendor and majesty apparent
as eagles soar on whispers of HIS breath
glistening water mirrors
the mountains and sky
all these wonders
echo HIS love to me.

IN THE WAKE OF A NUCLEAR STORM

The devastating nuclear storm, left everything to die,
lying hidden underground, I closed my watering eyes.
Years swiftly passed, then one day the earth bloomed,
I arose from my exile, and crawled out of my tomb.
In awe I gazed up, at the churning sky tinted pink,
from my vantage point, I could only stutter and blink.
A freshly painted world, all around me thus lay,
what happened, dear God, to the place I used to play?
The flora incongruous, though with a vibrancy all its own,
to one who has been sleeping, what a creation that hath grown.
Gingerly tasting and absorbing, vernal essence upon the air,
I felt dumbfounded and stunned, and so only could stare.
Enigmatic beauty! The vivaciousness of it all!
I've found it at last, my new home, after all.

THE WIND

Sitting here feeling the sighing wind blow,
I review the things that brought me to this
Point in my living.  How was I to know
That I was to leave with no farewell kiss?
My beautiful child, it's hard to let go.

But let go I must, it is the right time.
So I sit here and watch the wind blowing.
Tomorrow is out there, holding its rhyme,
Waiting for me, watching, and knowing
I'm aware of the morrow, its calling chime.

Will I cross mountains to see what's beyond?
Or stay on the shore near what's close to me?
I cannot say, I have no magic wand
To show me a future I cannot see.
I go with the wind, pursuing this bond.

NATURE'S LOVING HAND

Awe inspiring, they loom so high
Their snow covered tips touch the sky
The perfect backdrop for the land
Carved by Nature's loving hand

Rugged edges worn with time
To their peaks men wish to climb
A conquest they consider a great feat
It's a challenge they wish to meet

>From the top to gaze below
May be the best view you'll ever know
For it looks upon the untouched land
Carved by Nature's loving hand

UNTITLED

Cotton candy skies
deceitfully tell the fortune
Before the storm arrives

Mountainous barriers
Knows their doom
Stiffening their surfaces
To once again survive

Lollipop flowers
Clinging to their stems
So as not to fall this time
Only time will tell

Water is always calm
Just before the storm
Peaceful and quiet
But fear lies heavy in the air

The lies I hear
deceitfully mark a false path
As I harden myself again
Trying to make with no scars

Clinging onto life
As if it were mine to hold
I shall fall again
And the fear shall consume me

And my body will crash
Upon the rocks bottom
Scattering into a million pieces
As I already am

WE BEHOLD YOUR GLORY

I peer upon your majestic slopes
And rest in your solitude
Awe and amazement fill me
As I ponder your strength.

The years you have seen, untold
The wonder of them all, before you
The ancient eyes have beheld your glory
As you peered back through time.

Snow covered peaks
What stories you could tell
Looking down from your heights
Into your lake and valley.

Do you wonder, of the condition of man?
As we wonder of your creation
Or do we simply exist
Because of the masters hand.

We are but as the flowers of the field
Nourished by that which set us here
As you my giant friend are witness
To our lives lived out, under your shadow.

BEAUTY AND GRACE

Looking to the skies
Feeling God's love about
The beauty of His work
The need to cry and shout
The high and gracious mountains
Snow tipped and reaching
Reaching for His grace
Touching the bright warm sky
Tinged only by the paint
The colors of His hand
The wonders He creates
The beauty that is His land
Brightly colored flowers
Green and lush forest
Bright and shining
The deep blue waters
Surrounded by His grace
Surrounded by His love
The beauty if His love
Reaching for the skies
Feeling His warmth
Looking always upon us
With grace and love that is His

SOLITUDE

I feel an uneasiness within my heart these days
I feel the need to leave this place and find a way to renew
My hopes and dreams that once were new, but somehow held at bay
Years ago, when I was young, my soul was filled with spirit
Today those hopes and dreams have taken a backseat to my duties
Unable to pinpoint the time and place my spirit has gone away
I dream some day's of a quiet place, where solitude is welcome
I want to withdraw so deep within, yet my fear makes me unable
To wander off far from this strife called life, stressful and contagious
So I transport myself to a quiet place where great mountains surround my heart
To serve as a barrier, a protection from all malice intended or not
On occasion I stand upon that barrier and gaze down into the river
Searching the current as it moves along for my spirit, my hopes and dreams
Lost in thought and consumed with pain sometimes I even wonder
What is the cost for a life lost to the rapids in this river called mankind
I've walked the edge of the mountain, even sat on the mountain ledge
I argue with my conscience, so far it's been a draw
So I relent and take a different approach and walk the rivers edge
For a better view of the other life on the other side of this river called mankind
My vision is obscured by the dark clouds in my mind
So I search the sky for a ray of hope and see deep skies of blue
With strips of pink that cross the sky I know the sun is rising
To shine upon this place called earth and the river called mankind
As the clouds begin to clear my eyes begin to focus
And my senses are awaken by the morning dew upon the evergreen
Lavender and tall grasses give off a fragrance too
Sweet and clean as though to cleanse my broken spirit
I sense my spirit lifting and hope is not far away
I reserve this place for my solitude, where my heart can slip away
And seek protection from the hurts and fears along the river of mankind
For when my hour seems darkest I can withdraw within my mind
And climb the mountain that protects my heart and dream of the other side

REFLECTIONS

Sometimes in a quiet moment of reflection
I gaze within to forge the honesty
  that must be faced
 Knowing with sudden clarity
 I've not traveled  far enough
  within my heart..
And the grandeur of a stark mountain
  snowcapped and silent
draws me ever forward like a stern
 fathers darkened brow...
 And i must go there...
 once more..
 and try...
 to face the challenge
of a heart left weak from
 the climb...

AS IF GOD SPOKE

I have been to the mountain and seen the other side
Looked down upon the secrets that were there to hide
While old as time many mountains have been said to be
While standing at its crest it seemed I viewed life's infancy
Small and distant all things from here beyond my arms reach
But not beyond the echo's of my voice given to speech
"Hello" it thundered down from the heaven as if God spoke
Lacking his authority so fear not the dead was not awoke
But I did place my hand into the clouds as they passed over head
Reaching for lightning to add strength to the hello I had said
Yes I have been to the mountain but it was of me I saw inside
Looking down upon my dark and cruel fears from which I hide
The mountain of worries, troubles and sorrows I must climb
I use them each week to write the words to for my poetry and rhyme
