HISTORY REPEATS
Time flies
doves cry.
History repeats
hearts beat.
Moon glows
rivers flow.
History repeats
souls meet.
Magic enthralls
lovers fall.
History repeats
hearts beat.
Love reigns
heartache, pain.
History repeats
souls meet.
Doves fly
time cries.
History repeats
hearts beat.

STONED COLD
Well, you're so stoned cold
oh so stoned cold,
the birds they fly around you
searching for a sunny day,
you start to breathe
and you go to speak,
and then they begin to fly
away,
you're so stoned cold
while I treat you like gold,
oh so stoned cold
and it's getting old.
Well, you're so stoned cold
oh so stoned cold,
I reach my hand out
to touch your skin,
nothing do you see
as you peer through me,
you stand still in time
frozen,
you're so stoned cold
and you just don't know,
oh so stoned cold
just thought I'd tell you so.

SPIRIT DEATH
It took a love she thought was
true to set her spirit free.
She gave herself most willingly
and only he did see.
With openness and daring, she
flew into his arms.
More than all her dreams could
see, he wooed her with his charms.
Never had she felt such peace
nor warmth of loving’s fire.
They sealed their bond and pledged
their oath for all that they desired.
The thunderbolts were sounding
as they joined to seal their fate;
two loving hearts becoming one;
for each soul a mate.
Enveloped by euphoric bliss and
lost to love’s embrace;
blinded by resigning faith to
tears upon his face...
as slowly he did turn to go
without a reason why.
What had changed to make this
so and why now did he cry?
Her sorrow overtook her, as she
wept with disbelief.
If they had shared a life-time...this
too would be too brief.
At first she held close to the
hope that one day he’d return.
Her mind filled with thoughts
of him and so for love did yearn.
Consumed by grief, her spirit
died and left an empty shell.
She closed herself to all who
neared and lived a living hell.
Her heart no longer knew of
love for others or for self;
and slowly she did turn to stone
and stand outside herself.

LOVE
They say if you love somebody
Set them free and they shall
return
For if they are yours, it's
forever
If not, then your love will
be spurned
How lucky are those who can
let go
What a shame for those who cannot
For love cannot be captured
and caged
For that is not love they have
caught
So if you indeed love somebody
Set them free to fly back to
you
And treasure the love of their
spirit
And know that their heart is
true

FLESH AND STONE
One of flesh and one of stone,
In the forest all alone.
One to loose and one to keep,
In the woodland still and deep.
Lessons, wise, are there to find,
Seek ever with a questing mind.
If you search then you might
see
Answers that can set one free.
See how stone is quiet, still?
Sit silently and then this will
Open up your heart and mind,
Secrets of yourself to find.
See the flesh, how it lets go?
Letting loose, so all may grow.
Simple, yet, some seem to find
It hard to let go any time.
Lessons learned are sometimes
lost.
To human kind what is the cost
Of looking not within the self?
Inside there's such a store
of wealth!
Remember this, for it is true,
The knowledge is inside of you.
If you listen, you might find
Answers of a different kind.

UNTITLED
Deep in the tranquil forest heart
Noble she stands under the wooded
glade
Light filters though the leafy
canopy
Shining down onto her sculptured
face
Standing 'neath a moment just
passed
A reflection of her for all
of time
With outstretched hand let releases
And casts free the wings of
peace
Sweet maiden of Loegria I call
to thee
A purer beauty I have never
known
Together we stand bathed in
light
The light of the new day washes
over us
Hesitantly we kiss, our lips
join
While I gently caress thy slender
form
Her fleeting touch arouses a
fire within
A passion is unleashed inside
us
Bathed in the light and the
warmth
A deep and lasting love is forged

MIRRORED FLIGHT
Paired and perching
On two outstretched hands,
One of flesh and
One of stone.
Resting from life
And frozen in cement,
Twins...
In a captured moment
Of admiration
For one another.
Ah! To hold that flight
For eternity,
The other,
Wanting
Eternity.
The gentile fingertips
Release a push
In the winds that blow.
All is quiet in the
Spread of a wing.
Anticipation that the scene
Will indeed change
One will keep its bird
In cold and pretty hands
The other sets hers free
Hoping life will visit again.

AWAKENING DANCE
Cast down your eyes
an angel dances within
the morning shadows
The earth breaths a soft wispy
sigh,
like a mist rising from ocean-
blue depths,
It stretches, gathering towards
the sky.
Each morning dance
swirls light and shadow into
mist
until golden sun rays prance
to
welcome the dawning day.
Her heavenly smile entices
as nature responds.
Shrouded under foliage
beneath the tender leaves,
Sweetly birds begin to sing
a song filled with bittersweet
harmonies.
A moment in time , frozen.
Forever she dwells dancing in
the mist
to the song of the morning bird.

TEARS FALL
From the stars
As people
Dance on the moon
In couples
Of one
Inside stone molds
Wanting to touch just once
But forever encaged
Witnessing
A torture of souls
Tears fall
From the sun
As people walk too close
Scorched from the heat
Turning to stone
Pretty Barbie
How pretty are you now?
Pile of rubble
Of which you always existed
Tears fall
From my eyes
As I ask the stars
And the sun
"Was it worth it?
To dance just once
With that whom filled your dreams?"
What is life
Without love?
But what use is love
Without life?
The dove cried with the sun
Pleading
To keep my feet on the ground
And not dare too close
To the forbidden fruit
That my heart longs for
But must be ignored
And that's okay
I'll let my heart cry its tears
Of betrayal
Scream into empty walls
Of want
And deprive my heart
Of need
But I would just like to know
Pile of stone
My Barbie doll
Was it worth it?

STEP FROM THE SHADOWS
What has been done is done
Hidden by the shade of the sun
As it shines upon the present
time
The past is cast in stone of
lime
You cannot change what has gone
before
Nor can you be certain what
lies in store
Live in the light for all its
worth
A life full of wonderment and
mirth
Remember the past so that you
may learn
For the events that occurred
may return
But do not live there in the
shade
For it will cause your light
to fade
It robs you of your life to
live
Taking away with nothing to
give
Step from the shadows into the
light
Embrace the life that is your
right

THE LADY FAIR
The statue doth stand
Upon its' marble base
Thoughtful is her look
Strong and full of grace
In the coolness of the woods
Arises the morning mist
The dampness of the forest floor
By the morning light is kissed
Away the dove doth fly
With purity and light
Seeks out the sun
As it takes to flight
As the sunlight glows softly
Upon the lady fair
Shades of autumn leaves
And her golden hair
This lady full of charm
Her love she doth share
Reaches for all that's pure
To those for whom she cares
Happiness fills her heart
For a love that's fair
Lending and helping hand
The kindness she has there
Freeing the tether dove
Watches it take flight
Knowing how the freedom feels
Knowing this right
As the sun caresses her hair
A new day begins to rise
With happiness in her heart
Away the dove doth fly

THROUGH MIST AND
TEARS
Gentle mist blankets the silent,
serene lake,
ripples of shadows dance, morosely
in the wake,
mourning for anguished dove,
and his grieving soul mate.
Ancient mother, cleaved in half,
watches protectively over,
as dawn awakens between sorrowful
dove, and his ethereal lover,
her bittersweet tears rain down,
reflected as morning dew on the clover.
Quintessence twin souls wrenched
unfairly apart,
she a lonely woman by day, he
a broken dove at dusk's start,
only brief glimpses stolen,
yet infinitely joined in heart.
Wings flutter a melancholy breeze
to caress her vibrant face,
dove's precious gift to her
deep sorrow, inside this mystical place,
majestic statuette weeps openly,
in elegant grace.
The woman's tormented eyes,
ride the shadows a-fore his flight,
shattered dove seeks high thermals,
singing achingly for the night,
until then his shredded soul,
will keep her beauty in sight.

HER HEART
Love touches her
her world is full
yet she yearns
and desires
and hungers
to keep his love close always
all the while knowing
that it must be set free.
Her heart is full
and wisdom is her guide.
she knows not why she loves
she only knows that she
does
deeply
and with her whole heart
through many a trial and
much error
she knows the best way
is to set her love free
so on the wings of a dove
her prayer for her love
is sent to the winds
not knowing if it is the end
only trusting and hoping
in eternal love

REFLECTIONS AT
SHERANDO LAKE
If i let you go
set you free
I fear you wont
come back to me..
I wonder of my inclination
to thwart this feeling
of trepidation..
If i let you go
into the night..
and stand here alone
heart full of fright...
I wonder what the hell
i could be thinking,
to let you leave
this heart that's sinking
fast and furious
my thoughts they wander...
how shall i cope?
on this i ponder...
If i let you go
my dearest one
will you think me brave?
after you've gone?
I guess I must trust
in divine intervention
pack up my heart
in a stone of protection..
roll up my sleeves
brush the tears away
straighten my spine..
till your return one
day...
If i let you fly
on winged flight...
remember the sacrifice
i made this night...
to let you go
to set you free
don't think me noble
i did this ..
for me.

HER GRACE
With the setting of the sun at
days end, she sets in for her rest
Stoic, proud, upright, beautiful,
chaste and statuesque
Motionless she stands as a beacon
to the forest
And a single dove has come to
rest as her companion and guide
As strong as the tall trees
that surround her, with the wisdom of age
Draped in the shadows of darkness
she leans upon a pillar to brace
For the magic and promise of
life within the heart of her grace
Deathlike in appearance, silently
she nourishes all things living
With dewdrops she caresses new
seeds upon the soil
Anointed by moonlight, prepared
for the sun
Fragrant wild flowers open wide
to partake
In the kiss of her wetness,
her life giving rain
Where under the stars life is
born without pain
Before the sun rises, a murmur
echoes through the trees
And is carried on the soft breeze
that signals a new day
The sun rays filter through
the trees on the breeze
Giving life to the stone maiden
who watched over these
Basking in the coverlet of mist
that separates night and day
She steps from her mantle to
inspect the evenings power
Stoic, proud, upright, beautiful
and chaste
The statuesque woman and her
companion make haste
To busy themselves in the blessings
of the day
Free spirited and peaceful her
dove fly's away
To return to her steadfast at
the end of day
Once again her companion and
guide to the promise
Eyewitness to the magic within
the realms of her grace

A LIVING STATUTE
All she said was "haven't I been
here before"
As she stood looking out of
deceptions door
Life for her was not as it was
for others it seems
Because she had always been
a prisoner of her dreams
With each new hurt or pain that
she was subjected
A wall of protection around
her she erected
But to many times had she suffered
at others hands
Till a false image of herself
in her place now stands
She stopped feeling with her
heart and used her mind
But love was an understanding
her thoughts could not find
Her soul no longer knew who
she was meant to be
And thinking with her heart
made emotions harder to see
She had became a living statute,
as cold as any rock or stone
And outside of herself was the
only place she was not alone
But kind hearts warm with kindness
and in its heat the cold ends
And all she has to do is trust
to fly free with the help of her friends
