THE INSTRUCTOR

Expression of stone,
he took his seat
in the sand.
Ready to teach his lesson,
he looked toward his pupils.

They both stood in front of him,
the boy to the left
and the girl to the right.
Watching in awe,
as their instructor sat,
silent.

He need not say a word,
to teach this lesson
of life.
All he had to do
was point.

Showing them,
that the distance
they endured,
although not of great measure
still hindered the ability
to communicate.

Communication,
being an art form
can be distorted,
and often mutilated
by distance.

That was the lesson,
the instructor
wanted to teach these two
young individuals.
Never separate yourselves
from each other.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES

Morning sun ablaze
Endless possibilities
In a halo of light
Reaching out for the light

Searching the skies
In each point of light
Holds a different story
A different way to go

Hands of time stand still
Around you seems nothingness
As time marches on
There is hopelessness

Look again to the light
For there is more to see
Not endless emptiness
Look there is something to find

Endless possibilities
In each point of light
As time marches on
Look again to the light

MOTIVATIONS

Catching me by measure
Naked Truth smiles He
assesses my desire
amongst murmuring winds
honesty's consumation

Laid bare before him
welcoming investigation
probing inward motivation
inciting bands upon my heart

His father time will tell all
dancing clothed in lovers stitching
comes down He with verdict
Innocent of Deceit, True to Love so rare

IMPRISONED

You may be able to imprison my battered body
And let me starve for sunlight in the darkness of your cell
You may silence me
And erase my written words.
You will never catch my untamed spirit
Or capture my soul.
My thoughts are free to cross any border
Free to roam where they want to wander
Like the wings of an eagle, I will spread my words
Freedom for everybody
Let us go.

WHERE ARE YOU FATHER

I miss your strong voice
I miss your mighty presence
Your words of wisdom
Your love unfettered

I miss your harsh discipline
I miss your gentle wrath
Your words of rebuke
To set me on the path

I miss your kindness
I miss your guiding help
Your words of instruction
To guide me on my way

I miss your attention
I miss your dear ways
Your words are silent now
You've gone to better days.

HELP FROM ABOVE

To you I look from high above.....
As we face our enemy with all your love....
I have asked, I have prayed, I have begged for a sign....
Only you can save, all man kind....
With one wave you can protect us from fear....
To fight with love and feel victory near....
Just fighting with love cannot change men...
It only unmasks them....
Who worships Christ in bread and wine....
and kneels before the High and Pure.....
Meets him again in street and mine
And in the faces of the poor...
Faith is a gift at any cost....
Without God you are forever lost.....
Without your way, there is no going...
Without the Truth, there is no knowing...
Yes we ask for help from Above...
Show us your guidance, and all your Love.....

HIS GUIDING HAND

He holds me close
each and everyday
Its his guiding hand
that shows me the way.

When I'm down and blue
He whispers ''I will rescue you''
Just look up and see
Put your trust in me.

I learned of him as a child
He kept me from running wild
He always walked by my side
Even when I tried to hide.

I still know him today
As I grow old and gray
He helps me through bad times
and keeps me from losing my mind.

He is a wise man you know
With his love, straight you have to go
Everyday he watches over me
His name is ''God'' you see....

THE SOURCE

He stretched his hand out
Towards the sphere below
The orb around him
Did surely glow

Are we far enough
He wondered to himself
So the heat and light
Will not affect its health

Too much heat
Would surely bring downfall
Too much cold and darkness
No life would grow at all

The distance between them
Had to be just right
For all of life depended
On this single source of light

OLD MAN OF TIME

I know you, you're Father Time:
Important in this world of mine
For without you, we can't exist;
Would disappear into the mist.

Without time our world would be
By now consigned to history.
The meetings that we would arrange
Would not take place, it's oh so strange

And we would never catch our train,
It's hard to grasp, but really plain.
No one would know when to arrive:
No such thing as two-hour drive.

Our watches then would not be there,
In a world that wouldn't care.
No need to worry if you're late,
In a sleepy, timeless state.

Our sports would also have no meaning.
No athletes with world record gleaming.
No time out at ice hockey games:
Nothing would ever be the same.

On the positive side, oh my:
Without time we wouldn't die.
But before you treat it all with scorn:
Neither would we have been born.

PLANS

He had thought and thought
and now he knew just what
he needed to do.
So he planned and planned
and laid the foundations for the world.
How the sun would warm us
How the moon and stars would light our nights.
every detail had been measured and designed just so.
Oh HE had so much fun !!!!
Even the tiniest details delighted Him.
The sparkle in a happy eye
The love of a mama for her babies
The desire of a man in love
He planned it all, every mountain, every person.
He knew and loved each and every creation he had made.
For all were fearfully and wonderfully made in HIS image.
To be His friends and to love Him
and to be just who HE made each of us to be
HIS child whom HE loves unconditionally.

DAYS IN SUN

Out of the evening sun I shall climb
to enter the dreams that are in your mind.
Tonight is the same as the many nights before
tomorrow will become old folk lore.

True are the shadows of your disbelief
for I come this night to aid in your grief.
Swallow my thoughts while you exile in dreams
as I silence the night and stifle your screams.

Brave through the night, if you so dare
try to survive this undying nightmare.
I whisper, ''Tomorrow night.'', into your ear
and into the morning sun, I shall disappear.

CREATION

In the ancient order of life,
He first created light.
He commanded, ''Illuminate,''
Separated day from night.

Then He formed the firmament,
The Heavens and the Earth.
The land and seas, the grass and trees
Were brought forth into birth.

Next He ordered Sun, Moon, Stars
To cast their golden rays,
Controlling seasonal changes,
Defining years and days.

He called for birds and sea creatures
As He was next inclined,
Then said, ''Bring forth each animal
According to its kind.''

Now from the Heavens God reached out
His glowing fingertips.
He pointed once more down below
These words flowing from His lips.

''Let there be...'', He offered again
To finalize His plan
And in His own form and image
God last created man.

RECLUSE

I am the recluse that lives in your brain
Sucking your thoughts and driving you insane
I poke and I prod with a steel-like finger
Like a bee that slowly injects its stinger
I'm always with you deep down inside
There's no place to run and no place to hide
Fearful image and disturbing thought
Inside the the cells my vision has caught
Nerves tensed into a pulsating knot
Dreams threatened demanding a lot
Shadows of annoyance crossing your face
As I invade your private space
Leaning forward I lower my voice
I'll take control cause you have no choice

THE SECRET

Father Wisdom,
share your words,
with all of those
who have not heard.
Speak of the joy
that so often escapes,
as life rushes by
and time, we don't take.
The promise of a rainbow,
a sunset's sweet peace,
softness of a spring rainfall,
all wonders rarely seized.
Tell us about love,
blessed union of souls.
More oft than not we miss that one,
how is it we can know?
Help us, Father to understand
the mysteries of this life,
the secrets that elude us all,
yet from which each of us derive.

THE MIRROR OF SOLITUDE

How weary is the face that stares back at me -
a face I once knew I lie between the cracks of my life -
memorizing the embedded lines - the calloused hands
My eyes wince at the pain they must be enduring -
please cry out for help - I beg you - you cannot do it alone
Who dictated to you that the world is yours to save -
you treat it as a gift -in exchange you gave your youth -
that which I cannot return to you
The seasons have come and gone - oh,
but to smooth away the enemy of time that
which has weathered your clothes - your mind - your body
Your world crumbles around us,
rough edges cutting through our hearts,
our minds, pieces of it filter into my private domain
Hold tight to that which you believe in -
for when I surface from this private hell I have fallen into
I promise you that which you have given me -
and I have witnessed through the strength of your being
The strength of hope, of wisdom, of want -
and I will shatter this mirror of my life I stare stoically down into
Wait for me, and I will enter your solitude of duty -
and grasp the reigns of the future with you
Never looking back at the pieces of glass -
of the shattered mirror that cuts into my life

THE MAESTRO

Great conductor of life's orchestra
A wave of your baton and the music began
Following the tempo set by you
The sweet melody flowing effortlessly
Guided by your hand it all comes together
Rises and falls under your command
When the final note is played
Your approval is all that matters.

LOST FAITH

In the beginning....
Imagine the power
Awesome, supreme
Loving, merciful
Master Crafter of Souls

The alpha and omega
of life, measuring
our length of days
immortal, knowing
our error from the start

Justice reigns supreme
executor of all matters
be it in heart, thought
or deeds... He asked only...
that we be obedient

Falling short of this course
flushed by our nakedness
clothed by embarrassment
awaiting our wages sin pays
...death in due course

Over the millenniums
mankind attempts to rule
according to his own
selfish desires... traitors
to God Given Rules

At mankind's own behest
self serving at best
he rules by the greed
bought with gold
exchanged for lost souls

A revelation revealed
mankind's fall from grace
prophecy awaiting fulfillment
professing love... yet living
in a vacuum of fear

Ancient of days... you've waited
in patience, long suffering
you've watched mankind destroy
all that is good, witness to
so called victorious spoils

Swift be your judgment
merciful my death
as I stand a testament
before you of lost faith
yet ... hope prevails

UNTITLED

Little tow head with eyes of sky blue
Dressed in denim and shirt brand new
Too young he got caught in a custody case
That day he disappeared without a trace.

I cried ''oh, my son, I miss you so''
I want only now to watch you grow
Why did his Dad want to keep us apart
Did he get joy from my broken heart?

To court much later we finally went
A judge heard all that I had to vent
Decision was made with me he would live
So for years he took what I had to give.

Today he wanders the streets again
Hear from him only now and then
My search has ended but I hold true
No one can take my love from you.

FOR US

I
[Awareness]

I Am
[Presence]

I Am Alone
[Alpha-Omega]

Out of Nothing
I came alive
My isolation was absolute
My grief inconsolate

Out of My Self
I conjured up
A Father and a Son
A Mother and precious Daughter
And a Family of angels

Yet, in Their purebred natures
Devoted and true to Me
I, yes We, were still alone
Circumscribed by Our perfection

The love We shared
Had no choice
We, as One,
Bemoaned Our island in the Darkness

So, I took up
My tools of Creation
And dared to design
A Mystery
YOU

I brought You forth
Endowed with Will
Unfettered

A universal stage
And eternity
I created
To sustain You
With only one hope
In mind

That You
In freedom
Would one day
Turn Your face
To Mine
And declare
Your love
For Me

In that day,
That moment,
Your independence
Would set Me free
From isolation

The burden is upon You now
To forgive My plan
To understand
My need
For YOU

The pain-filled world
You live in
Must be so
As ALL of You
Explore
That self-willed Choice
I gave
To YOU
For US

MASTER ARCHITECT

He was an architect
with a need to create.
He came upon this place
and decided 'twas fate.
He measured and drew
His masterpiece planned.
He revised and edited
it would be oh so grand.
He was ready to build
then realized His plight.
In frustration He cried
''Let there be Light''
...and it was so.

SUNGOD

Throughout the ages man has learned
that SunGod ruled their world
like glowing molten gold he burned
and golden rays he hurled

As giver of all life to man
and worshipped as a God
the key to every master plan
the staff of life, the rod

The reigns of life and death he holds
man's fate is in his hand
his blessings come in reds and golds
beamed all across the land

Beheld in awe by countless tribes
they pray for each day run
and offer virgins up as bribes
on altars to the Sun

His brilliance makes the corn to grow
turns wheat to golden grain
when he retreats the winter snow
shall come to cause man pain

Should he not send his amber sheen
Sir Winter then would stay
no blade of grass would ever green
without his golden ray

The sap would ever cease to rise
without his brilliant touch
no birds nor bees nor butterflies
dead moon would have no crutch

The Lady Moon without Sir Sun
would lose her shining girth
within all truth she is but one
dead child of Mother Earth

Of all the subjects in his realm
Sweet Earth is who he chose
to have green lands that overwhelm
where sky blue water flows

UNTITLED

chaos fills the emptiness,
stretching unto eternity.
then reaching yet beyond.
blankness, blackness
of celestial womb.
from this darkness,
rent and cleaved,
spilling forth, light is born.
shattered shards
day and night,
intermixing in the flow;
as order is restored.
weft of dark, warp of light
a pattern there is woven
stars as guides, planets whorl
universes thus collide.

COME TOGETHER

overpowering forces
feelings that compel
mystic revelations
unbeknownst to beings
how they fell
charges rushing through
spirits being joined
bolts of lightening
crashes of thunder
quakes that shake
within the souls
connected
yet divided
miles apart
who can explain
feelings deep within
the Heart

WITHOUT CONSENT

Eternal search for light and truth
to our death.... from our youth.
Whether it be folly's quest
or guidance for our soul's unrest.

We may think our mind's at peace...
serene and calm, with soul's content.
Yet, the process of our thoughts
carries on without consent.

Ever learning and absorbing...
mind with heart and soul consorting.
Senses play the role of guide,
strive to bring only good inside.
