So far away, never again to hold.

A life in suspended space
No true love will I ever face.

Or pieces of other souls never to be found?

Amazing how one broken heart seems to fold
While the other finds another heart to hold.

Loneliness has always been a way of life for me

As i looked into the sky tonight,
i found myself being transported to a far away place...
A place where dreams come true,
a place of peace,
  and happiness...
I found friends that i had lost there,
and family members long forgotten.

I found myself drifting in this fantasy place,
so far away from the cares of life...
Dreaming,
wishing,
  and reminiscing.....
With those I loved,
and those who loved me.

And as my fantasy world was taking shape,
I noticed the little arrow....
  and the sign that said....

Here we find those dreams untouched,
The ones we've yet to chase.
Waiting for a wondering soul to pass it by,

Aliens always fascinated and entertained
Even if our credulity they strained
Some worshiped them as new and better Gods
For ridicule and shame they were lightning rods
But they were just a dream conjured up to give hope
And became a strange addicting form of dope

The scientists all said if they did exist somehow
They'd be good and smart and superior anyhow
And we would learn from them and be wise
But when their signal came we knew those were lies

We’ve been in space now two hundred years
Learned and fought and calmed many fears
Peace came as we explored the planets and moons
We were looking forward to conquering death soon

The signal came and woke us up with terror
The message hard and rough and filled with horror
They do not value peace and love and creation
Only conquest and consumption and domination

Then we truly began to panic with black fears
Because they were close, only twenty light years

What are our options the Council  asked?
Seeking wisdom and action for the coming task
We have no choice, the scientist would say
We hung our heads and wept that black day

And opened the vaults of  Doom and Hell
Resurrected the demon with a metal shell
The one that was buried but not forgotten
That killed billions in a time ill begotten

We launched it then, thirty years ago
With its lethal payload packed just so
On to the evil aliens of terror and dread
Just about now they should all be dead

Blasted and torn with their planet destroyed
We did what we had to do, but did not enjoy
Breathing now a sigh of just relief and sorrow
We now have a bright and triumphant tomorrow

We will never understand their evil bent
Their signals revealed their cruel intent
And showed us just how they lived each day
Telling us much of their cruel, perverted way

As our feelings of apprehension begin to shrink
We found it easier to kill them than we’d like to think

This scene I remember
..from past weeks ago.
When life's dark danger
..had taken control.
I tried to enter tiredly
..this one great light.
But instead you hovered
..about, guarding my life.
The form of a being
..I recognized not.
Yet, felt so close
..as a continuos glow.

Now into this heaven
..my spirit agrees.
This angel of protection
..is always here for me.
Leading me through safely
..the agonizing times.

Its vastness awe inspiring
Celestial wonders cluster about

One more wonder in God's creation
comes in the form of a cosmic dance.
A nebula splashed among the stars,
silent beauty that leaves me entranced.

I contemplate the Artist's desire
and wonder what was His intent.
Perhaps to display His marvelous power
or for viewing by all, it was sent.

As they dance, the stars twinkle
one shines brighter, I can see.
Illuminated against a black night sky,
could that star be for you and me?

Much like I did when I was a child
I close my eyes and quietly chant,
hoping, my love, that you see this star too
and we can share this magical dance.

stands as one testament to the story.

A fiery asteroid appears,
Illuminating space.
It hurtles through the Universe,
Quickly gathering pace.

And in it's wake is our own Sun;
Dwarfed by this asteroid.
As it threatens every planet
Across the starry void.

Where it will strike yet, no-one knows;
All that they know is this:
If it collides with our blue Earth
We'll be left with an abyss.

A gigantic ball of gas and fire,
Observed from far away,
Is a spectacle for all who gaze
Upon the Milky Way.

But this very sight, when viewed up close
Breeds fear and trepidation.
