The knowledge we gain means nothing
unless we hold the key.
The process is to sort and distinguish
what is meant to be.

We have to discern within our own minds
based on the information at hand.
Incomplete facts lead to solutions
as many as grains of sand.

Sometimes the truth will reveal itself
to satisfy our minds.
At other times the answer may elude us
and leave our thoughts in a bind.

We live with unanswered questions
as we gather in more facts
never knowing all the answers
testing our brains to the max.

Continually searching to find our way
with the truths we know in our hearts
If we ever think we finally know all
we find ourselves once again at the start.

We walked down the long road today.
You held my hand along the way.
Something happened and you changed.
Someone different you became.

My eyes are closed as I am pained.
My mind's divided, who's to blame.
My naked thoughts show my shame.
My other thoughts are disarranged.

My love is here for you always.
My hand holds yours forever babe.
You left me alone on the road astray.
My wish is that you'll find your way.

Hope, at roads end flickers aflame.
It's just the lights of an oncoming train.
I think I'll just sit here and wait.
For my time has come to deal with fate.

We learn so many things
But most important of them all
Is how to spread our wings

Guided by a helping hand
We shall see things as they are
For the truth shines bright
In the light of the guiding star

Two sides to every story
So many people say
But when they travel down their road
Do they ever look the other way?

For the roads are all connected
Crossing over side by side
All moving forward
Riding on the tide

For time is the biggest ocean
That sweeps across the land
Always moving forward
Even as we stand

So learn to spread your wings and fly
See all there is to see
For on this journey through your life

These things of life and truth must I tell you my child
There are things you will find that will leave you beguiled
Like the checkered path to life is really but a dusty road
And knowledge is its key and treasure to be bestowed
So take the hand of wisdom and walk the crooked path
And avoid you the shame and pain of ignorance's wrath
All are judged in life but better to be it by what you know
Than flash and glamour of any wild deed you might show
Be thee aware of any who may claim to be an open book
Unread pages within them hides from you where to look
The harder you work and the more of yourself you give out
The more is returned and that is what learning is all about
Wisdom is not an answer that's knowledge already defined
Wisdom is the question for they only live within our mind
We live we learn we hope we pray and we try to pass it on
And maybe the spark of enlightenment my child will dawn

I'm traveling on the road to wisdom
Embracing what I have not known
For I am no stranger to ignorance
Its the knowledge I've yet to own
A gale of ideas brewing inside my mind
A storm of enlightenment I hope to find
But so far intelligence has eluded me
My thoughts only grasp what I can see
Blind to an unseen world of information
A confused traveler searching for its location
A student of life grasping for the unknown

For could bare flesh endure what she will
Alas this warrior of wisdom prepares for war
It is for her to open the minds door
Then shine enlightenment on the darkness there within
And key the lock to let the knowledge in
Along the way she will build a smile and wipe a tear
Wrestle with a problem and ease many a fear
Cry for the challenges too far beyond her reach
And pray hers are the right answers to teach
Give her heart away a thousand times
And be blamed for all her students crimes
So why would anyone this battle zone breach
Unless her reason in life is to teach
