The heavens opened and a rainbow fell to earth Moving as a river of color, given its birth A shimmering arch of living light A gift of beauty and pure delight And everywhere its brilliants did shine From the rich earth would grow a vine And on each vine would grow a bud Given to life from the earth's nourishing blood From each bud a flower would bloom So sweet the smell of natures perfume The fragrant fire women use to drive men wild And yet a treasure in the hands of a child A beauty given unto the eyes of mankind Who otherwise to nature might have been blind Bear ........................................................................................................ |
