I turn to you
You caught me lonely, doing nothing.
Asked me for your own sweet song.
Guess I'm thinking you deserve one.
Yeah, I know, it took too long.
Dragging 'round and round about
my world until my circle's crossed.
Finding I strike out too far
in unknown parts and find me lost.
Stranded on my sinking ship,
I turn to you and try to say
"Don't struggle too hard in this life,
because these things just waste away."
The banner to my turning mind.
The ladder from this churning tide.
What matters is the hope I find,
in people who just live a life.
It falls away and so do I;
not careless but a carefree kind.
I love to think of what's inside
the deeper thoughts we try to hide.
Philosophy; a way to be.
And me; a universal thing.
Collide inside this canopy
of love and life and filth and greed.
