- Nothing really. I mean, my life is going so badly, compared to the f***ed up stuff inside my head, this just pales into insignificance. Youve got to look after number minus one.
The nation is shocked. There is an outcry in the national press. Jake is forced to speak once more.
- No one even bothered to try and understand the meaning behind what I said. You journalists are just getting a story. You only look after yourselves. You are the ones sensationalising the story. That to me is shocking.
- And the great British public, they are lapping it all up. So much hypocrisy. That to me is shocking.
And on the other side of the globe, in San Francisco, Jakes friend, who he had only ever chatted to over e-mail, was seriously ill. He was distraught.
