About the Editor

Born in 1966, Robert Kenchington graduated from Napier University, Edinburgh in 1988.

He began his career as a journalist, working as a reporter for the Nottingham Evening Post before broadening his scope to Features Editor at EMAP, where he developed his skills as a critic, reviewing film, video and CD releases.

In the early 1990s, Kenchington freelanced for Gramophone, the BBC Music Magazine and The Good CD Guide, specialising in the Austro-German symphonic repertoire, eventually interviewing conductors Sir Georg Solti and Sir Colin Davis.

In recent years Kenchington has worked as an editorial consultant to The Rank Organisation and The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen; helping to launch Britain's first Degree Course in Artificial Intelligence. He has also aided the publication of procedural documents for NASA and is currently honing his skills as a web designer.

As a musician, Kenchington played and taught the organ during the 1980s and in the late 1990s began a sideline career as a conductor, working with various choral and amateur music societies.

As a sometime actor, he has worked with the Stamford Shakespeare Company and participated in a number of film acting courses.
