Sitting Bull Great chief of the Sioux when General Custer was killed with all his paleface soldiers at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. He did not lead the fighting but did escape with his people across to Canada. After a time he came back to America and lived peacefully on the reservation, even joining myself and Buffalo Bill on his Wild West Tour. When he came back he was accidentally shot in an argument on the reservation. |

Red Cloud Red Cloud was a great chief who made great war against the white eyes. They thought him a simple indian but he took advantage of the white man's civil war to win a great victory. His warriors lured a party of horse soldiers out of their fort and then cut them off and massacred them. This was known as the Fetterman massacre. Finally the white eyes had no heart for fighting and Red Cloud forced them to burn their forts. Unfortunately, after the civil war, they came back. The White man always lied. Geronimo Geronimo held out against the white man for many years. He and his band of apaches raided both sides of the Mexican and American border. He was said to be cruel but this was because the mexicans had killed all his family. Later, when he surrendered, undefeated, he came to regret some of this killing as he could see his victims in his dreams. |
