A Tribute To Frida Kahlo
The power of her image
Burns in my mind
Like an explosion of fireworks
Cascading down to earth
What dazzling beauty
What bewildering grace
The piercing look of her gaze
Could reach deep into your soul
Her sparkling eyes
Outshone the brightest star
A stunning mix of vibrant colours
She could dance on moonbeams
A brief dazzling light
That faded all too soon
Like a shooting star lighting up heaven
And slowly fading away
Christmas Eve
Snow is lying on the ground
And Christmas lights shine all around
It’s Christmas Eve and there’s not a sound
Apart from the children as their little hearts pound
Santa’s reindeer slip and slide
On the rooftops to which they are tied
While Father Christmas climbs inside
Leaving presents by the fireside
Snowflakes drift in the starlit sky
As a little child starts to cry
A heavenly angel passes by
And the child gives a happy sigh
Santa returns on his northern flight
As a child is awoken by the morning light
May you always be beautiful and bright
And may God bless you this Christmas Night
Back to the top
As the temperature rises
There are plenty of surprises
A crescendo of noise
As the girls kiss the boys
Germans and Greeks
Screams and shrieks
Girls dressed in black
With nothing on their back
A sun-tanned arm
And Mediterranean charm
The girls are so chic
Whilst dancing cheek-to-cheek
Drinking a bottle of Keo
Whilst Sophia dances with Theo
Sipping a brandy sour
As you pass another hour
Dancing on the table
As well as you are able
To the rhythm of the beat
As you start to stamp your feet
On a Cypriot Night
You dance till its light
You leave the nightclub yawning
And sleep right through the morning
