As Time Went On
From the moment I first saw
you,
I knew you were the one
The one to love and care for
me,
My bright and shining sun.
We talked, we laughed, we shared
And through time we cared
We brought to ourselves a new
love,
And all I knew was you were
a blessing from above.
But as soon as our voyage had
started,
I find that we inevitably parted.
The love I thought was there,
Was only mine to share.
As time went on, we rekindled
our flame,
And I no longer had anyone
to blame.
Life was simple, life was sweet,
You swept me right off my feet.
And as time went on the flame
slowly died,
And in the end I find both
of us cried.
The love was obscured
And the hurt never cured.
As the days turn into weeks,
And the weeks turn into months,
We have smiles across our faces,
But hide the heartbroken places.
We go each day with a gap in
our hearts to fill,
And all I know is that I love
you still.
Where can we go from here?
Without shedding one more tear?
Because every time I close
my eyes I see you
And how I want to live my life
with you
There is no one else

You're the only one I'll ever
