Easy.

The Review  6/10

Why such a low score ?  It all starts as I hand braked turned into their car park, just off the main road.  I have to admit my own amazement at the precision of the maneuver that I had done, and without slowing any of the traffic behind me down.  There is a bigger car park when you turn left (if your heading north) directly before the pub.

We entered the pub which had  3 people in, 2 of which turned out to be staff.  We made our way to the bar and checked out the today's special's.  All the usual stuff was there and so we decided to get Cumberland sausage and chips, accompanied by baked beans (you can have veg though) and an egg.  For the starters we opted for Onion rings, Garlic bread and some deep fried mushrooms.  Hmmmmmmmmm.

So we take our beers over to a quiet area of the pub and after about 5 minutes the food arrives.  Naturally the next thing we require is the tomato sauce, which arrives in handy kiddy sized sachet's each containing a spoonful of Heinz tomato sauce, or if you prefer you can HP brown sauce.  The salt and pepper where already on the table and so it was with that that the 2 staff deserted the pub and any chance getting any vinegar was now now lost (unless you order the house wine).

We tuck into our super long curled up Cumberland sausage, which wasn't too spicy , and devour our big thick chips mixing it all up with the beans.  Add, the much required and well deserved, beer and everything is fine and dandy.

The portion was well sized and both my companion and myself were pleasantly filled up.  The sort of full that doesn't turn you into a Weeble, but does indicate that you probably don't require a second helping.

So far so good ? Well no problem with the meal itself.  We both finished it and yet there was still something nagging away at us.  What was it now ?  Oh yes, the starters ?  We just couldn't help noticing that we had now finished our main course but were still awaiting delivery of our starters !!!

A good ten minutes past and still no sign of those starters we had ordered.  Time to order more drinks and discover what had happen to the starters, which by now just wouldn't be eaten, and if we could get deserts instead.  Joy of joys my friend returned with another pint for himself and a large cappuccino for me, the added bonus that you can have a free refill of Tea, Coffee or cappuccino.  Of course we had successfully resolved the case of the missing starters too.

It seemed our starter where not missing but in-fact had just been completely forgotten !!  However, the good news, is we can swap them for 2 desserts.  Ok then, that 2 chocolate fudge cakes with custard please.  Sure enough our desserts arrive with an apology regarding the starters and once again my friend and I make our way through the food in front of us.

So it is only the fact that the starters never appeared that we give 6/10.

The tip : Need I mention it again, Starters !!!!!!

Full Factor 10/10 even without the starter !
