Rules of the Group (ettiquette)
Please confine your discussions to relevant topics. Limit excursions into related topics. Use your best judgement. For example, some of us developer types got a bit over zealous with programming discussions and other users decided to quit the list as a result. They simply got tired of wading through a bunch of email that they didn't care to read.
Make sure that you include a descriptive subject line for each message to the group, because, many times, users will delete a message with a subject topic that is not of interest to them. For this reason, you may also choose to send separate questions/message topics in separate messages.
When writing a message to the group address it to:
When writing messages to the list, make sure that each line ends with a carriage return (the enter key on your keyboard). Many email products being used by members of the list do not wrap the lines around. If you type a whole paragraph without hitting enter, they will see it as one line, and have to scroll way over to the right to read it. This is annoying to everyone, including those who have to manually format their mesages by hitting enter on every line. However, this is the way it is being done for now. Maybe someday Netscape and other software developers would pull their head outta the sand and add this stupid little feature. Until then, we are all going to have to bear this burden.
Finally, remember, this list is basically created, operated and owned by Steve Schow. He doesn't work at Digitech. He doesn't owe you anything. If this list craps out once in a while, you'll have to bear with him. It's not like anyone is paying for this service.
With all that nasty business behind us, I'll just say SIGN UP! Most of us have found the list to be very beneficial in inreasing our usage of the 2101.
