The role of professional and personal goals in instructional practice

Personal Beliefs My beliefs about teaching and learning o I believe that the teacher must demonstrate subject competency, good classroom management, and honed interpersonal skills. I believe that students are shaped by their experiences and thoughts which form the basis of their behavior and learning habits. My belief about students o I believe that every student regardless of demographics can learn and they are unique in their own right, although differing in skills, motivation, expectations, attitudes, life experiences, and cognitive process. My beliefs about knowledge o I believe that knowledge is based more on concepts and therefore, I highly encourage students to analyze relevant issues in order to fully understand them. With clearer understanding of these ideas, I believe that the students will be able to comprehend more complicated subject matters easier.
