Rebuild This City
We took so much time to build this up
And in a day it was wiped away
We placed our trust in the good will of The Lord
We put our faith in our abilities
Our hopes and dreams were created here
This place is part of our history
And yet in one day it was destroyed
But the memories remain
You may destroy our physical world
But our souls survive
Inside the memories continue to inspire us
And to keep us warm inside
You may bomb us and attack us
But life goes on
We gave birth to our children
And our spirit lies within them
We have touched so many people
That you will never destroy us
Ideas never die
They flourish in the minds of the brave and good
When you die you will be despised
And will answer to God
It is not our job to judge you
That is a task for a higher authority
But we all have to pay our dues in this world
Whatever you do we will rebuild this city
We will heal the wounds
And support each other will love and kindness
The strength of millions is overwhelming
All working together in a common cause
Unity is our strength
