Explosions in the Sky
You kept me going through the dark nights
Your music lifted my spirits
And set my mind soaring into heaven
Those delicate yet powerful guitar chords
And that driving beat of the drums
A slowly building cresendo
You took us to the bottom of the ocean
And showed us the depths of your soul
"Is this darkness in you too?"
Questions that cannot be answered
Life is a journey full of mysteries
From time to to time we see the blinding brightness of the truth
But for most of the time we live in the darkness
Guided by a hand from on high
Never cease composing your classic hits
You may never achieve world wide fame
But you have touched the hearts of many
We will listen to your delicate chords
And find courage and inspiration from within
Like a good wine or an attention grabbing book
You remain with us long after the tune has played
You stay with us throughout the days
And help to add colour and texture to our dreams
You are the soundtrack to our lives
We look to the heavens and we see
