Welcome to ****
Cini Gossips
A merciless Roja on Mumtaz It has
been sleepless nights and days for the woman who gave lot of
others sleepless nights with the death threats and obscene calls
she has been receiving. Mumtaz was seen huffing with puffing red
eyes recently due to the crank allegations and accusations of
homosexual relations made against her by a Tamil Cine Magazine
called Roja. She blamed that merciless gossip can sometimes drive
actresses to the point of committing suicide. The actress who was
quite shaken by the allegations that this magazine made that she
was having a homosexual relationship with her P.R.O, Riyaz Khan's
wife said it was so demeaning not just to her but also the wife of
her P.R.O who is a happily married woman with a child. Mumtaz had
taken the matter to Vijaykanth, the president of the actors
association, who pacified the actress and said that stringent
measures will be taken against the culprits to punish their
demeanor. Meanwhile Mumtaz is trying to fix up an appointment with
the chief-minister and already has filed a complaint with the
Police Commissioner. She also says that these criminals who posed
as journalists tried threatening her for money. Bad enough these
women are handling the pressures of a male dominated society it is
really sad that they have to put with such filthy scandalous
rumors. |
Shaam backs off Shaam
was taken for a ride with his bus number release. Trying to make
sure everything was going his way and with no unexpected
diversions and to avoid abrupt U turns in his career the hero took
that extra effort in his next movie out of sheer enthusiasm. But
it was being interpreted as interference thus dampening the
actor's spirits. So now Shaam is with more of a nothing less
nothing more of an attitude in his work with fear of taking the
wrong route with the directors. |
Baba's direct dealing With
rumors spreading fast that Baba is about the story of a saint who
disowns political life to become a saint and then finally he
enters back into politics to remove the weeds among the crop.
While we are still having fingers crossed upon the story, dialogue
and the main theme of the film, the Baba already has plans of not
releasing the film through film distributors but directly dealing
with the theatre owners. When the last film of superstar was
released around three years back an initial collection of 75 lakhs
was made from the theatre owners area wise even before the film
was released. Now the collection for Baba is one crore which is
not much as it was expected to be. |
Should Abbas be lover boy? A
Coimbatore based businessman called Thangavelu is making a movie
called Lovers. The movie Lovers has Murali in the lead role whose
recent movie Kamarasu with Laila bombed heavily at the box office
due to a over tragic story line but strangely the word around
Kollywood is that it might bag a National award. The producer had
first approached Madhavan and Prashanth for the role of the second
hero role in the movie but since they did not agree for the role
not being satisfied with the offer he finally approached the
cute-faced hero who has been doing second hero roles alot of late.
The actor agreed not knowing the history of the rejected role. The
hero shouldn't have taken yet another second hero role when he is
making break in Hindi as a full-fledged action hero. The movie
Lovers stars Murali, Abbas and Meena and is a romantic comedy on
its way |
Sensible Srikanth He was
yet another refreshing cute-boy faced new kid around the block.
Though his debut film 'Roja Kootam' is not doing as expected with
the lavish investment and the re-shooting of the songs. The
performance and the dedication of the actor were being appreciated
even before the film could hit the theatres and now it is even
more. The actor initially declined all offers that had come his
way, he even said no to a Vijaykanth movie saying he wants to wait
for the reaction of the public and the box office acceptance of
Roja Kootam. A sensible move by Srikanth. With all the
appreciation of the actor going around, Srikanth has been signed
for another film of Oscar Productions film with the same director
of Roja Kootam |
More Villians to follow It is
just like in the Bible parable, one sheep leads the crowd and the
rest follows. But the only principle or way being here the path
should be a success formula. Following the box-office hit of
Prakashraj's Daya, a lot of other villains are also in the story
hunt of something like the lines of Daya's story. Especially Karan
who was alternating between character roles and villain roles in
religious movies, is seriously on the look out for a Daya clone
story wise as a re-launch pad for him to make a strong comeback. |
Tarun's Collection-G Tarun
one of the leading stars in Telugu Cinema is now doing his second
film Ennaku 20 Unakku 18 starring Trisha and debutant Shreya after
his film Punnagai Desam. The child artiste turned hero Tarun is
the son of actress Roja Ramani. It is either the overly done
promotional stunts of collection G or might be the hero is trying
to make a sentimental fashion statement by wearing a bracelet in
the right hand [which by the way is not unusual] and his mother's
metti [a silver ring worn by married woman in their middle toe] on
his little finger. |
The Man behind Mayuri All of
us remember the film 'Mayuri' which starred Sudha Chandran whose
real life story was made as a film. The actress who is a trained
classical dancer too had to have one of her legs amputated when
she met with an accident. When everybody thought it was the end of
her career and with a marriage proposal called off, she made a
total comeback in the film Mayuri and there has no looking back
for her with all the TV Serial roles and movies coming her way.
Now after all these years there comes up another true story along
a similar line where a young man called Kutty had lost his leg in
an accident but continued with his classical dance performances.
Producer and director KR who was quite taken by the man's tale is
planning to shoot his real life story as a film |
Celebrating differences It was
a typical case of political favoritism taking over a film
personality celebration on her receiving the esteemed Padmashri
Award. The Aachi felicitation, which took place, recently
reflected the distinct groups now existing in the film industry.
While the whole celebration was organized by Radaan Entertainment
services headed by Radhika Sarath Kumar, the president of the
South Indian Artistes Association Vijaykanth and other actors of
the committee like Napolean were absent. Word around the town is
that there would most likely be yet another felicitation that will
be organized by the South Indian Artistes Association with
Ms.Jayalalitha presiding as the chief guest who eventually happens
to be a close friend of Manorama. |
