Simran: A sister's rage
Simran is back from Canada and it seems like she is back with a vengeance.
The first thing she did as soon as she returned was to have a press
conference at GRT Hotel, Chennai wherein she claimed that she was
disgusted with the gossip and cooked-up stories that is being spread about
her family. Present in the press conference with Simran was her father
Ashok and her mother Saratha. Simran made it clear in the press conference
that her father did not have two wives. She said that her father is a
devoted man who has remained faithful to her mother till date. She also
admitted that Monal was her own sister who was younger to her by the two
years. Monal was adopted by her Aunt Veena and moved to Delhi to be
brought up there. Monal moved back to Bombay where she pursued her higher
studies in acting and finally moved to Chennai to launch her film career.
Simran held Prasanna, a dance choreographer, responsible for the death of
Monal. She said she was quite aware that Monal was in love with Prasanna
but she did not interfere as she respected Monal's personal choice to
marry the person she likes. Though Simran told the press that Prasanna
always curbed Monal's freedom and would insist that she did not talk with
her other co-stars on the film sets and would ask her to refuse to take up
shooting schedules out of the country. Though Monal and Prasanna were
totally in love with each other in the beginning, Simran claims Prasanna
later yielded to his family pressure to give up their relationship and
Monal as she was an actress. Simran adds that she has strong proof of
evidence to confirm that Prasanna and Monal moved much more than friends
or lovers. Apart from holding Prasanna and his family for her sister's
death Simran has also accused Mumtaz and PRO Riyaz of not only taking away
evidence about Prasanna from the scene but also that Mumtaz had taken
around Rs.50,000 cash from Monal's house during the incident.

Mumtaz shocked by Simran's accusation
The glamour queen of the industry was in a mixed state of confusion and
anger, which is most probably now leading to hate. Mumtaz was in the
shooting of a Malayalam film called "Thandavam" when she heard
about Simran's accusation. The actress reportedly answered the press and
other media in a confused state to Simran's accusation. She said she found
it baffling that Simran who had moved with her so friendly during the
shooting of 'Yezhumalai' in a movie with Arjun where Simran and Mumtaz
were co-stars could not think why Simran had made such making a blatant
accusation on her. Mumtaz said that it is horrifying and degrading that
one should make such an accusation at all. Mumtaz also added that she is
no desperate need of Rs.50,000 that she had to rob at a house where an
untimely death of a co-star and a dear friend has happened. PRO Riyaz Khan
was also disturbed by the fact that such merciless accusations were made
against him when he was only trying to help the family members through a
sad time.

'Dance Master' Kala to file a suit
While everybody is reacting their own way to the death and the events
following Monal's death. 'Dance Master' Kala has taken it a step further
and is determined to take the issue to court. She is going to sue Simran
for 'emotional distress and damages'. According to 'Dance Master' Kala,
who also happens to be the Aunt of Prasanna (lover of Monal) she says that
both of them moved like any other friends would. She narrates in her
interview with the press that Monal was a very nice person whom everybody
in her family liked and it is unfair for Simran to make such an
accusation. 'Dance Master' Kala also emphasizes that Monal considered her
as an 'elder' sister-figure whereas Simran though was actually her elder
sister failed to wish Monal on her birthday on Jan 26th 2002 and
disregarded her duties as an elder sister of Monal and also failed to turn
up for her sister's funeral. She also adds that Monal was in constant
mental agony and physical torture by her parents, Aunt and her sister
Simran. Well, all is said and done, perhaps more said than done, the
simple truth being that Monal is gone for ever and only she will know why
she thought that ending her life would be the ultimate situation. It is
high time people stop saying or claiming that they would "die for
their love" because love is one of the other right reasons for which
most of us live.

Run: One leads to another
He has already played the role of a guy who would do anything for love in
his earlier film 'Minnale', now in 'Run' Madhavan plays the role of a
simple straight forward guy who finds it difficult to lie his head off
even when he has to. But then as usual things get complicated when love
enters his life. To save his love life and keep it going he lies just once
and from then on, one thing leads to another. Though it appears like a
comedy genre kind of a film, the movie is an action-oriented film.
Madhavan is all praises for the director Lingusamy for handling such a
theme in a totally different way. Meera Jasmine is the heroine in the film
from the Malayalam cine world and is still a college student herself.

'Mysterious Girl' in Three Roses

doesn't exists in reality and now. Considering all the insatiable souls,
and as if enough wasn't enough, the number of beauties goes up by one more

to the script. Rekha Vedhaviyas, a Kannada actress plays the mysterious
girl in the film Three Roses. The actress has played the role of a heroine
in the Kannada version of the films "Chithiram" and "Anandam".
Arjun, who was supposed to play the mysterious guy or the Charlie
equivalent according to the script is now being replaced by Vijay Adhiraj,
a television as well as film artiste. Three Roses is a home production of
Rambha who plays one of the angels. Story, screenplay and direction by
Parameswar.

Simran swinging 'in' the 'Dance Master'
Call it irony or destiny or the industry's taste of choosing peculiar
names for their films. But Simran is now doing a movie called 'Dance
Master'. It is too early to say anything about the movie, whether if she
is finally coming full circle with her relationship she wanted to let go
or if it a dedication to the lovely times of yesterday. But it is probably
the right time to say she has definitely called the relationship off with
Raju Sundaram who is still having a tough time getting over the girl who
said "I love u daa". Raju's father is already on the hunt for a
girl to get him married off as soon as possible. Simran seems to take
everything in a stride, be it relationships or the news about the coward
decision her sister plunged too. Simran who heard the news about Monal's
death in Canada during Panchathanthiram's shooting did not fly back to the
funeral of her sister because she felt if she did the whole shooting would
come to a still for a few days, whereby the entire crew would have to
prolong their stay in the freezing temperature. She seems to have told
somebody in the crew something like that she had already warned Monal
about not entering the industry. It's a man's world out there and Simran
is certainly handling it with strength. Hope people appreciate her
toughness instead of mocking her for not turning up at Monal's funeral. We
definitely need more bold actresses like her than others who chose a
coward decision of taking their lives assuming they were punishing the
world
