Loch Ettrick
This well stocked scenic 20-acre loch is surrounded by hills and forest, the water is clear and the free rising fish are very hard fighting.
To enjoy Loch Ettrick, good tactics are required. Dry fishing is a favourite tactic with floating lines and a variety of patterns. Mayflies and Buzzers are some of the best flies in summer. The loch is stocked with rainbow trout from 13 inches, a lot of fish in the 1lb 4oz to 2lb range, and some up to 8lb. A population of wild brown trout contains fish up to 4lb, the record brown trout being 8lb 3oz. Facilities include a period boat house and toilets. Tuition can be arranged and the fishing is suitable for disabled anglers. Four boats are available (including the famous "Lady Betsy"), each suitable for up to three adults.
Loch Fern
Your special day will begin as you will be in the clear waters of this well stocked 14-acre loch, with stunning views across the rolling countryside As with Loch Ettrick, traditional Scottish loch flies work best and dry fly fishing is the favourite during summer months. Fish fight hard and Loch Fern provides traditional Scottish loch fishing at its best. The largest recorded brown trout caught is 7lb 5oz. The Rainbow trout average is 1lb 8oz with some surprises at around 6lb.
