AttractionsCala'n Porter has a very large, deep sandy beach that is enclosed on three sides by the cliffs that form the resort itself. A steep set of 192 steps lead from the beach back to the town, although, at a cost of 4 Euros per person, a mini train does provide a very welcome relief from the daily climb. The resort is famous throughout Menorca for the Cave and legend of Xoroi. He was a pirate who kidnapped a local girl and held her prisoner in the cave for 10 years. They had several children together before she was rescued after his footsteps in the snow gave away their hiding place. By day the cave serves as a bar, which then transforms into a disco from 11pm until dawn. The local fiesta is held in the town on the 13th September each year. This is a little late for many of the visitors, who begin to leave the island during the first week of September as their children return to school.
