Fillipino Taxi
The
Fillipino Taxi was the brainchild of Nobby, seen here leaning
on his car just after returning from the National Convention
in Timaru, New Zealand. It's a Minor 1000 pickup with lowlight
guards grafted on the front and a Datsun 1200 engine under the
bonnet. The engine and gearbox mounts were done by a friend,
Robby, whose engineering work won Nobby a prize at the Convention
in 1997. The paint job is yellow & orange, with a big zig-zag
up the cab and back section separating the two.
The
Fillipino Taxi idea is meant to resemble the outrageous taxis
used in the Phillipines - he later added 4" high model horses
to the sun visor and stuck old keys all over the enagine bay...
