Meets Austin at Brooklands

A
beautiful day dawned for the first major UK event of the new
millenium. I was up with the birds washing
Bessie the convertible for our trip acros the county (a whole
10 miles) to the birthplace of British motorsport, Brooklands
Museum and Raceway. Over 150 vehicles from the Morris and Austin
stables made an appearance on the first day of the year for
comfortable open-top motoring. A Perfect Day. :)

Morris Minor's 50th Birthday Year

Palace - 6-8 June
The biggest Morris Minor event ever held.
Over 2000 Minors assembled in one place for 3 days of total Minor
immersion. For those of us lucky enough to be there, this will
remain the highlight of our Jubilee year.

Motor Heritage Museum
- 20 September
The British Motor Heritage museum hosted
a day devoted to the Morris Minor, 50 years to the day since
the first Morris Minor rolled out of the factory.
International
Classic Car Show, Birmingham
- 7/8 November
The MMOC celebrated in public with a stand
containing beautifully presented original Morris Minors. Over
30,000 people attended the 2 day event, making it the best attended
Classic Car show so far.
Lord
Mayor's Show parade through London
- 14 November
London welcomed a new Lord Mayor with
a parade leading from St Paul's cathedral to the Royal Courts
of Justice, and Morris Minors were there to help him along his
way. The MMOC were asked to participate in the parade through
downtown London as a special treat in recognition of the Minor's
50th birthday and the fact that the Lord Mayor learned to drive
in one ...
