Biography
Neve Adrianne Campbell was born in Guelph Ontario on October 3rd 1973.
Her father, Gerry Campbell is a drama teacher originally from Glasgow, Scotland, and her mother, Marnie Neve is a psychologist originally from Amsterdam in Holland who now runs a yoga studio.
They were both affiliated with the theatre world. Her parents divorced when she was only 2 years old and she moved to Toronto with her father where she grew up.
Her first name 'Neve' is a old spanish word meaning 'snow'. It is also her mothers maiden name.
She originally wanted to be a dancer.
She began dancing at the tender age of 6 after her father took her to see "The Nutcracker."
By the age of 9 was training with the National Ballet School of Canada.
She excelled at her art and was adept at six different forms of dance including jazz, flamenco, modern, hiphop and classical ballet. but unfortunately, several injuries made a lifelong career impossible.
All this, and the exstremely harsh competitiveness between the dancers almost resulted in a nervous breakdown at age 15.
She then turned to modelling for a few months, yet found that it wasn't for her, and then she quit.
So, lucky for us, she turned to acting for a livelihood and has proven to be great in this field too.
Her first job being in a commercial for Eaton Center, a mall in Canada, and later as the Degas Girl in "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Pantages Theater in Toronto, a production directed by Hal Prince, where she performed in over 800 shows.
She has said that she likes the theatre because she gets an automatic response from the audience. It was also here she met Jeff Colt, her future husband, he happened to be bartending at that theater at night. In the daytime was was a daycare teacher.
Neve and Jeff moved in together in 1990, and got married on April 3, 1995 in England in Westminster Cathedral near Wimbledon.
They then spent their honeymoon in Paris, Venice and Zurich and settled down to live in her recently aquired 3-bedroom house in Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills in the Los Angeles area, California.
July 30, 97 : They announce their seperation, and Jeff moves out.

However, we have come to realize that both of us have some growing to do, and we need to be on our own for a while. There has always been much more depth to our relationship than the press or public could see. Jeff and I love each other very much, and that's going to continue."

In October, Neve requests a divorce, and Jeff finalizes it on November 7.
To this day, Neve is single. Neve has been spotted with Matthew Lilard, Matthew Perry and John Cusack, but she has not considered anything serious with anyone.
One of her first roles, on the Canadian television series Catwalk, combined her dancing and her acting abilities. As Daisy, she first caught the eye of the public. Her moderate success allowed her to get work in the United States. She worked on a run of tv movies which eventually landed her a role as Julia Salinger on FOX's "Party of Five", a show that won an Emmy for 'Best Show' in 1996
This success lead to even bigger and better things...
She has starred in the feature films "Paint Cans", "Web of Deceit", "The Dark" and "Baree". She co-starred in "Canterville Ghost", an ABC/Hallmark Movie of the Week, with Patrick Stewart and she won a Family Film Award for Outstanding Actress in a Television Film.
In 1996, Neve Campbell made headlines and reached cinematic success.
Early on in the year, The Craft captured the attention of teenagers everywhere and received quite a lot of reluctant praise from critics.
Although her role in the film was rather humble, it got her noticed.
Then, just months later, came Scream. The sleeper hit of the year wowed audiences everywhere and became a cult hit phenomenon.
Scream won MTVs 'Best Movie of the Year' award in 1997, and generally got great reviews worldwide.

Her face is now seen everywhere and fan pages are popping up all over the web.
Not long after that, it's sequel, Scream 2, hit the screens to an even larger audience.
Neve Campbell won the "Best Actress in a Horror Movie" award at the 4th annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards.
In 1998, Neve was as busy as ever, and stretching her acting limits once more.
Neve starred in "Wild Things". She plays Suzie Toller, an "messed up, ex-convict, drug-addicted bisexual" (Neve's own words).
Also out in 98, "54", a disco drama where Neve plays a glamorous soap-opera star. This film did not fair very well at the box office, or with critics. There was much controversy when Neve did not show up at the premier, and was later revealed, that the film was greatly editted before it's release. None of the stars were happy with the final product.
Neve Campbell became a producer in 98, co-producing the movie "Hairshirt". She also co-starred in the movie with her brother Christian campbell and Katie Wright. The world premier was at the 1998 Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 1998.
