BILL BROWN, Goalkeeper  Began his career as a boy with Carnoustie Juveniles, graduated to Camoustie Panmuire and became a full  time professional with Dundee.  Born in Arbroath, played against England at Wembley in April, 1959 Within two months Spurs paid a£16,500 transfer fee to Dundee for him. Height 6 ft. I in.,.weightl2st.71b.

PETER BAKER, Right Back  First member of this Spurs' side to actually play in Spurs' first team. Made his debut in the First Division in 1952-3.  Born at Hampstead, played for Enfleld in the Athenian League as a youngster and won a Youth International cap.  As a boy be was outstanding in athletics as well as Soccer, winning trophies for cross-country, the quarter mile—and javelin throwing !  Height 5 ft. 9 in., weight 10 St. II Ib.

RON HENRY, Left Back  One of four men who appeared in every Cup and League match for Spurs last season.  Born in London he moved to Redbourn, Herts, during the war and began his Soccer career with the local club.   Signed by Spurs in 1955, got his big chance when Mel Hopkins was injured.  Since then he has never looked back and was listed in the 40 players from which England's World Cup squad was chosen.   Height 5 ft. 10 in., weight 11 st. 13 Ib.

DANNY BLANCHFLOWER, Right Half (Capt.) Another ever-present for Spurs last season. Captain of Ireland who has won more than 50 international caps.  Twice elected "Footballer of the Year," 1958 and 1961.  Top personality in a team of stars  inevitably called a " cultured, classical wing half."  A fast-talker who has written " unghosted " newspaper series himself.  Played for Glentoran,  Barnsley, and Aston Villa before linking with Spurs.  Height 5 ft 9 in., weight 11 st.

MAURICE NORMAN, Centre Half (I Born at Mulbarton, Norfolk, enjoyed his Soccer as a youth playing for a team called Wymondham Minors.  Was then spotted and snapped up by Norwich City and became their regular right back.  Spurs liked his style ; paid £16,000 for him and threw in a player as make-weight in the deal.  He did well enough with Spurs to win three England Under-23 caps at right back, then switched to centre half.  Height 6 ft. I in., weight 12 st. II Ib.

DAVE MACKAY, Left Half  Born in Edinburgh he joined Hearts and won Scottish Cup and championship medals with them.  Won his first full cap for Scotland in 1957 and cost Spurs £32,000 when he moved to them in March, 1959. Mackay knows only one way to play—giving all he's got all the time.  Always capable of taking hold of a game himself and making it go tne way he wants it.  Height 5 ft. 8 in., weight 11 st. 2 Ib.

TERRY MEDWIN, 'Outside Right  Spurs signed him from Swansea for £18,000 near the end of the 1955-6 season.  Now he has more than 30 caps for Wales, playing in three forward line positions. Once hit a hat-trick for Spurs from the centre forward position—against Leicester, the team he missed meeting at Wembley last year. Height 5 ft. 9 in., weight 11 st. 7 Ib.

JOHN WHITE, Inside Right  Deceptively delicate-looking White carries a hammer-shot as well as being the constructive artist of the attack.  Born at Musselburgh, Scotland, he began his career with Alloa, moved to Falkirk, and while in the Army was signed by Spurs for £22,000.  Looks frail, but never missed a match for Spurs last season, won Scottish caps as well and also played for the Football League XI.  A long haul from his first games for PrestonpansY.M.C.A. Height 5 ft. 8 in., weight 10 st. 8 Ib.

BOBBY SMITH, Centre Forward  A countryman, from Lingdale, Yorks, and like Norman behind him a man who left a countryman's trade, I) blacksmith, to star in Soccer.  At sixteen he'd already shown his promise and came to London to sign for Chelsea. He conquered homesickness to win his place in their first team and it took another cheque to bring him to Tottenham.  Set up a club goal-scoring record by the end of last season with 168 goals and has added to them this season.  Height 5 ft. 9 in., weight 12 st. II Ib.

JIMMY GREAVES, Inside Left Next to Blanchflower the best known name in Spurs' side although he joined them only on November 30,1961.  Born in London he joined Chelsea when he left school at 15.  An incredibly gifted goalscorer he was hailed as a " wonder boy " by scoring 114 goals in one season for Chelsea's youth side.  He's never stopped scoring.  Left Chelsea for Italian soccer at the end of last season but Spurs scooped his signature and he celebrated his first appearance on December 16 with a hat-trick against Blackpool. Is a full England international who also won Under-23 and youth caps.  Height 5 ft. 8 in., weight 10 St. 6 Ib.

CLIFF JONES, Outside Left Latest, and among the greatest, of a famous Welsh footballing family.  Father Ivor was capped for Wales ; so was Uncle Bryn—pre-war record transfer-fee player.  A fast, flying winger who began his career with club-mate Medwin at Swansea and has won many full caps himself. Capable of an acrobatic shot, Jones has a brilliant combination of speed and skill which make him an eternal menace, spurs had to fight hard to get his transfer, for £35,000, in February, 1958. They could get three times that for him from crack Continental sides.  Height 5 ft. 7 in., weight 10 st. I Ib.
