JIM STANDEN, Goalkeeper  Born Edmonton. Was playing for Rickmansworth Town when Arsenal signed him as a professional in April, 1953.  But was always in the shadow of the famed Jack; Kelsey, and moved to Luton Town in 1960. In November, 1962, he rejoined his former Highbury coach Ron Greenwood at Upton Park, when Scottish international Lawrie Leslie broke a leg.  A sure-handed, agile athlete who is also fast bowler for Worcester C.C.C.  But this season soccer definitely comes first. Height 5 ft. II in., weight II st. 4 Ib.

JOHN BOND, Right Back  Born Colchester. Longest-serving player at West Ham, signing professional in March, 1950, after spell as amateur with Hammers and Colchester Casuals.  Made first of more than 350 Cup and League appearances in 1951-52 season. Toured South Africa with F.A. in 1956, and has played for England "B" and Football League. A splendid dead-ball kicker, he's known as " Bondy " to his fans, and as " Muffin " to his team-mates.  A character on and off the field.  Height 6 ft. I in., weight 14 st. 2 Ib.

JACK BURKETT, Left Back  Born London.  Played in schoolboy soccer for Tottenham before joining West Ham's ground staff. Played in F.A. Youth Cup runners-up side in 1959 and for England Youth. Signed professional in October, 1959, made League debut three years later and last season missed only three League games.  A swift, studious player.  Ever watching for attacking opportunities, and combined yittl John Sissons to lay on second goal of West Ham's 3-1 semi-final win over Manchester United.  Height 5 ft. II in., weight 12 st. 9 Ib.

EDDIE BOVINGTON, Right Half  Born Edmonton. After local soccer service moved to Upton Park and like Burkett won Youth Cup runners-up medal in 1959. Made League debut in April, 1960, but only won regular place at Christmas.  After Blackburn had scored eight at Upton Park, he replaced Young England wing half Martin Peters—the only change—for return match. West Ham won and Bovington, a tenacious, determined tackier, has never looked back. Height 5 ft.10 in., weight 11 st. 6 Ib.

KEN BROWN, Centre Half  Born Forest Gate.  The club joker and second longest-serving player on club's books. Signed professional in October, 1951, after playing for a street team, Neville United. Made League debut the following season.  With Bond, only survivor from side that helped win Second Division championship in 1958.  Elected as " Hammer of the Year " for 1958-59. . In 1959 won his only full cap for England against Ireland, here at Wembley. A rugged and dependable defender. Height 6 ft., weight 13 st. 10 Ib.

BOBBY MOORE, Left Half (Captain)  Born Barking. Captain of the club and has also captained England. Amateur for West Ham before signing professional in June, 1958, after serving on ground staff. Played for London Youth, England Youth (18 appearances), England Under-23, Football League and full international side. Toured Far East with F.A. in 1961 and following year made England debut against Peru in Lima before going on to play in all four World Cup games. A dedicated player and a credit to the game on and off the field. Twice " Hammer of the Year." Height 6 ft., weight 12 st. 12 Ib.

PETER BRABROOK, Outside Right  Born Greenwich. Played schoolboy soccer for East Ham, Essex and London, and might have joined West Ham for nominal signing-on fee.  Instead Hammers had to pay hefty five-figure fee in October, 1962, after he had spent nine years with Chelsea. Joined Stamford Bridge ground staff at Easter, 1953. Made his League debut at inside forward before switching to wing.  Has won caps at Youth, Under-23 and full international level. Very fast, and a talented ball player, who can operateoneither wing.  Height 5 ft. 10 in., weight II st. 10 Ib.

RONNIE BOYCE, Inside Right  Born West Ham. Played schoolboy soccer for East Ham, London, Essex and England and for England Youth.  Signed professional in summer of 1960 and made League debut as 17-year-old in same year.  A tireless worker.  One of the most important players in West Ham tactical formation yet perhaps the least conspicuous. Got into the side when Welsh international Phil Woosnam was transferred to Aston Villa in November, 1962, and never missed a game until rested a month ago. Made himself noticed when he scored two magnificent goals in semi-final.  Height 5 ft. 9 in., weight 12 st.

JOHNNY BYRNE, Centre Forward  Born West Horsley, Surrey. West Ham's, and one-time Britain's, costliest player, when transferred from Crystal Palace for £65,000 in March, 1962.  Played for Surrey Youth, England Youth, Under-23s and full England side. Captained British Army in 1960-61, scoring six goals in one match, also twice scored four for Palace. A superbly gifted maker and taker of goals who this season has fulfilled all the promise he showed as a youngster. Elected " Hammer of the Year " six weeks ago. Is as much controller of attack as skipper Moore is of defence Height 5 ft. 8 in., weight 11 st.

GEOFF HURST, Inside Left  Born Ashton-under-Lyne. Played for Cheirnsford Boys and then joined West Ham ground staff.  Six England Youth caps.  Originally a wing half, moved up into attack last season.  Was top scorer with nine goals in 10 matches during New York International tournament last summer.  Wholehearted, aggressive player who has developed fine understanding with Byrne. England Under-23 honours this season, and scorer of opportunist goal in semi-final Also an Essex professional cricketer. Height 5 ft. 11m., weight 13 st.

JOHN SISSONS, Outside Left  Born Hayes, Middlesex.  Played for Middlesex and England Boys (scoring four goals in first international) and joined West Ham as apprentice professional in July, 1961, signing as filll professional following year.  Star inside left of England Youth sides which won International Youth Tournament for last two seasons.  Youngster with outstanding potential.  Made League debut in May, 1962, commanded a regular place since Christmas and has been one of key players in club's magnificent Cup run, scoring in earlier rounds against Chariton and Burnley. Youngest player on field today. Height 5 ft. 6 in., weight 10 st. 2 Ib.
