PETER
SHILTON. The boy whose great
potential led to City parting with England goalkeeper Gordon Banks to
Stoke in April 1967, Shilton is one of Leicester's most notable finds. In
season 1965-66, at 16, he became their youngest-ever first-team player
when making his debut against Everton. A product of Leicester schools
football, he has this season added England Under-23 honours to caps at
Schoolboy and Youth level. Born Leicester.

PETER
RODRIGUES. Signed from Cardiff City in December 1965 for £40,000. He
began his career in Welsh junior football and has 15 full Welsh caps to
his credit. Unusually fast for a defender, he is a quick, decisive tackier
and at speed in recovery there are few better. Born Cardiff.

DAVID
NISH (Captain). Another fine young
Filbert Street prospect, he made his senior debut in October 1967 when 18.
He becomes Wembley's youngest F.A. Cup Final captain. He started his
career as an inside-left but successfully dropped back into defence when
Graham Cross was out through injury. England Youth international, Nish
brings a high 1.Q. to his game—he achieved nine "0" levels.
Born Measham. 5 ft. 10 in. 11 st. 10 Ib. |

BOBBY
ROBERTS. Signed from Motherwell in September 1963 at a £40,000
fee. Played in several forward positions for the Scottish club before
settling at wing-half for City. A sharpshooter, too, he still likes to
stride through for a crack at goal. Born Edinburgh.

JOHN
SJOBERG. He played in the 1963 F.A. Cup Final in which Leicester
lost 3-1 to Manchester United. He is the longest-serving member of the
staff, having been signed from the Scottish junior club. Banks O'Dee, in
August 1958. A centre-half, he has also played at right-back and centre-forward.
Born Aberdeen, of Danish descent. 6

GRAHAM
CROSS. Left-half and another member of Leicester's 1963 F.A. Cup
Final team. A Leicester schools product, he signed for City in November
1960. A real all-rounder, having played in eight different positions for
the club and also county cricket for Leicestershire. League debut at 17
and made eleven England Under-23 appearances 1963-66. Born Leicester.

RODNEY
FERN. Received his chance when
Jackie Sinclair was transferred to Newcastle last season. Made his debut
aged 19 and has proved a fine replacement. Good on and off the ball, he
possesses a strong shot. Like Nish, he joined City from nearby Measham,
where he was born. 5 ft. 10 in.

DAVID
GIBSON. Schemed Leicester to Wembley in 1963 and has helped them do
it again. Cost £25,000 when signed from Hibernian in January 1962, and
the number of full Scottish caps he holds (seven) is small considering his
ability to open up opposing defences. A fine ball-player, he can also be
dangerous near goal. Born Winchburgh, near Edinburgh.

ANDY
LOCHHEAD. Signed from Burnley last October for £70,000, this
27-year-old striker was bought as a foil for Allan Clarke. Made League
debut in August 1960 against Manchester City and is generally regarded as
one of the game's most dangerous headers of the ball. Has played for
Scotland's Under-23 side. Born Miligie, Dumbartonshire.

ALLAN
CLARKE. Became Britain's costliest player when signed from Fulham
last June in a part-exchange deal equivalent to £150,000. Started his
senior career with Walsall and joined Fulham for £35,000 in March 1966.
Has played five times for England Under-23's. A natural striker, he has
fulfilled a deeper role since manager Frank O'Farrell took over in
mid-season. Born Shortheath, Staffs.

LEN
GLOVER. Cost £80,000, then a record fee for a winger, when signed
from Chariton in November 1967. Subsequently was dogged by injuries,
and this season has been his first real chance to prove himself. Has
played a prominent part in Leicester's all-the-way Cup run. Born at
Milngavie, Dumbartonshire. 5

MALCOLM
MANLEY. At 18 the youngest player
in the side that brought Leicester to Wembley. A former Scottish Youth
International, he came into the side at the end of last season and this
winter has developed into a commanding centre-half, who is being tipped
for Under-23 honours. Born Johnstone.

ALAN
WOOLLETT. One of Leicester's most improved players this season. He
took over from injured Peter Rodrigues and has proved a steady and
reliable defender. Originally a centre-half. Born Leicester.
