The Sixties was a decade of contradicting styles and sounds and attitudes, and more than any other in recent history spawned legends that would survive and inspire to this day. Leading the Way from Britain were the clean cut The Beatles, and bad boys The Rolling Stones, while from America we were brught the philosophical Simon and Garfunkle, the California sound of The Beachboys,and with such force and significance the MOTOWN sound that would influence ultimately the street music of generations to come. It was the time of Mary Quant chic and Kings Road style. Revolution and evolution were in the air. |

The younger generations were breaking away from the paths their parents had trodden, and looking for their own way. For so many, it was a time of searching both inside and out for answers that would prove to be ultimately elusive. In Britain, a bridging time for those that followed the Jimmy Porter era of angry young men; educated out of the class system they sought to smash, no longer satisfied with making do. Around the world change was stirring, and nothing would ever be the same again. It was the time true ambition was born |
