Well here we are again and isn't the year just flying? We must be having fun.

Regular surfers will have noticed some fairly radical changes to the site, with new pages, fresher designs, a cleaner look, and far more interconectivity between pages and areas. Well done Boswell and Tegs at Phoenix Graphic Arts. Keep up the good work Fellas! Also nice to see that one of the new pages ( at long last!!!!) is their own. We've been taking up far too much of their time of late ("What do you mean "of late"???:Boswell) but glad they have finally found the time to introduce themselves

We have just finished a pretty major exhibition at CONFEX, the trade event for media and entertainment companies at Earls Court in London. As well as our own stuff we stage managed and presented a stand for Connoisseur Charters which gained widespread acclaim, and much admiration from the other exhibitors. All of this was done with about four days notice and with a minimal budget (again!!!!!) so we are particularly proud of what was achieved.

Well done team!

On the down side we have not managed to agree terms for residency For phoenix theatre arts and Phoenix Dance Company yet, as either the facilities we have looked at were unsuitable, or else it has proved impossible to work our extensive programme into existing schedules. The search goes on.

Preliminar development work on our new ballet The Ugly Duckling is at an advanced stage and we hope to begin scoring the music for the piece soon. We'll post auditions shortly after the first draft of the score is complete, so watch this space for details.

Phoenix Speciality Events have been earning tremendous acclaim since reviving their corporate show Legends of Sport. Having previously showcased the late Sir Stanley Mathews, former world light-heavyweight champion John Conteh, and Jimmey Grieves, they have recently staged events featuring former world light-welterweight champion John H. Stracey, Conteh again, and have events to come featuring among others, Charlie Magri, Alan Minter, and by demand John H. Stracey once again. With their Variety Extraveganza Palladium Days Palladium Nights to come, with the likes of Jess Conrad, Kenny Lynch and our own Mike Felix featuring prominently, and with the multitude of corporate functions being held nationwide, this is going to be a very busy year for them. Go Boys and Girls!!!

It is proving to be a very busy time with everyone working away in the background on the foundation work for some fairly big projects. With several stage and screen productions on the drawing board (see the Work in Development section), the future looks bright.

There is also a very major capital plan in the pipe to overcome our chronic theatre venue shortage. More on that in the future.

Keep the feedback coming on anything and everything to do with Phoenix and the arts!

Wake up smiling.
