| A while ago, the head of British Aid for Deprived Children, a charity
which runs aid missions to some of the harshest regions of Europe, brought
to us an invitation from the government of Chernigov, a region in the Ukraine
close to the disaster site at Chernobyl, to take a show out to their theatres.
No other Western performer or performance company have ever received an
invitation to go that far beyond what used to be the Iron Curtain. That's
no one folks. Not Michael Jackson, not the Royal Ballet Company. No One.
So we decided to put together something a little bit special. You know,
kind of like the performance version of your Sunday best, after all it's
not every day that you are invited to make history |
