Restaurants and Bars

Most of the "good" restaurants in Cala d'Or are to be found around the marina area.

L'Arcada in Cala Figuera serves great pizzas and has fabulous views.

A popular pizzeria and seafood restaurant by the marina is Blanco y Negro and specialises in stuffed squid.

Pizzas and pasta dishes are freshly made to order at Don Leone's Italian style grill with a shady terrace.

The Dumpling is a family run restaurant in the centre of the resort. Specialities are home made Beef and Guinness Pie and a traditional Irish stew.

The mixed grill is recommended at El Lazo, a meat oriented Spanish restaurant. There's a big menu for kids and the prices are reasonable.

The cocktails at Mabu-Hay, an Hawaiian-themed bar, come with metre long straws and are definitely designed for sharing, Every customer receives a hula garland on arrival.

Porto Petro is one of the port's top fish restaurants, with views over the fishing harbour.

Port Petit is an upmarket restaurant overlooking the marina. It specialises in seafood but there are some interesting meat dishes as well, such as ostrich in Rioja sauce. The Mediterranean rock lobster will dig a few holes in your pocket but is worth it on the taste front.

Burgers, steaks and Tex-Mex dishes, such as chilli con carne and chicken burritos, are the specialities at Taco's Grill. Kids are provided with colouring pens and paper while adults enjoy a complimentary sangria with their meal.

Tony's Bar is a friendly Spanish bar on the main street of Cala Egos, serving dishes such as seaman's-style hake and king prawn kebabs at very reasonable prices.

Café Continental, on the Cala d’Or side of the marina, offers delicious snacks and meals such as jacket potatoes with various fillings and a wide selection of freshly made sandwiches.

Always popular with the locals, Bar Burvila serves tapas and delicious fish dishes on the waterfront in Puerto Petro.

Also in Puerto Petro, Celler C’an Xina serves some delicious Mallorquin dishes.

Right in the centre of Cala d’Or you’ll find Piccadilly’s Music Bar, which offers a friendly warm welcome. The owner, Jésus, also owns the only authentic Indian restaurant in the resort – interestingly enough called India. The food is superb - cooked by Indian chefs, it offers a wide and varied menu. Don’t miss it.

For a change from Spanish or British food, try the excellent Shangrila Chinese restaurant in Cala d’Or centre.

New for the 2003 season in Cala d'Or is Dr Feelgood's bar. It's on the main road next door to the doctors, so don't get the two places confused with each other! The bar has a medical theme with Test Tube shots and even a dreaded Dentist's Chair for the brave.

After a delicious meal there, nip next door for a nightcap in the cosy Port Pub – there’s a great atmosphere with people from around the world who have moored up and come in for a drink.

For a good steak and large portions try Barlovento, just behind the popular Red Lion pub (another one!). It has a wide selection, friendly staff and reasonable prices.

If you’re looking for a good English breakfast or just a taste of home, try Walsh’s in Playa Ferrera.

If you fancy a quick burger, then try Wimpy in the centre of Cala d’Or, near the main taxi rank at Placa Ibiza.

Right on the marina in Cala d’Or is the superb El Yate restaurant. An upmarket place to dine with an excellent selection of fish and meat, it has a first-class setting and friendly service.

Neptuno is a great value restaurant / bar in the centre of Cala d’Or, and is very popular with locals.

The food at Aquarius is good, and there’s a good variety too – both local and international. It has a lovely setting on the marina.

Latinos is a friendly modern bar, and makes a good meeting point.

El Clan was a new addition last year. It serves an interesting and different selection of dishes with a Belgian twist, and an extremely warm and friendly welcome is guaranteed. It’s in Cala d’Or, down from Placa Ibiza.

If you just want to have a coffee and pick up your e-mails, then check out the Internet Café in Cala d’Or marina.
