Tomb of Baba Taher

Baba Tahir Oryan - Born in Hamadan, in the early eleventh century, was considered by his contemporaries as one of the most eminent, erudite mystics and sentimentalists of his time, a reputation he has held in the affection of his countrymen to the present day.

Baba Taher was a respectable nobility from Hamadan. When Toqrol went to Hamadan, and visited Baba Taher, he got down from his horse and kissed Baba Taher’s hand. Baba Taher’s couplets,
which are in Lori language, are the best symbols of
his mystical thoughts and high spirit. He was the grandson of Omar Khayam (see mashhad for Omar Khayam).
His poetry has more mystic form than philosophical. Unfortunately, there is no more information about his life.
Baba Taher was born at the end of 4th century.
