Qeshm
Island, by all definitions, is the gate - way to the Persian Gulf. The Island
stands watch over the channel through which the bulk of the world's oil and gas
has always and shall, for the next 100 years, be transported. This location
compares most favorably with that of all other
Persian Gulf Islands.
Qeshm is the largest island in the Strait of Hormuz and in the Persian Gulf. With an area of 1445 km2, a circumference of approximately 362 km, and a length of 122 km, the northern coast of the island is covered with mangrove forests. Qeshm island is located along the Iranian mainland, at one point only about 1.8 km distant from the mainland, and Qeshm City is about 22 km from Bandar Abbas.
Located in waters of the Persian Gulf, Kish Island is of great
antiquity. Kish is characterized by its mild and pleasant climate during almost
all seasons of the year. Clear waters, unique sandy coasts,
