Sistan
& Balouchestan province, southeast of Iran, is located between latitudes 25-3
and 31-29 N. and longitudes 58-40 and 63-20 E.
It is bounded on the north by Khorasan province, on the south by Oman Sea, on
the east by Afghanistan and Pakistan, on the west by Kerman province and on the
southwest by Hormozgan province.
This province has an area of 181,471 square kilometers and according to the 1991
divisions includes 7 counties.
Namely Zahedan, Iranshahr, Chabahar, Khash, Zabol, Saravan and Nikshahr, 16
towns, 29 rural districts and 92 villages. Its center is the city of Zahedan.
