This site has the dual aims of publicising our club (the South Manchester Model Boat Club) and promoting our hobby (the construction and sailing of model boats)

If you are new to the hobby and after browsing through the contents of this site you are interested and want to know more how about going down to your local club and talking to the members. You will find they are a friendly bunch only too ready to talk to anyone interested in their pride and joy. You will also find them an invaluable source of information on how to get started, tools, kits, materials, techniques, etc. as there is always someone in the Club who has 'done that, been there' (or in the case of mistakes, of course, knows a someone else who has!).
