Freeware Items
The following programs are free to download for use
without restrictions.
Lift Coefficient Calculator

This freeware program will calculate the lift coefficient for your model
given the four input values listed on the left. The data values can
be input using the spin arrows or by typing directly into the relevant
field. The units should be changed to the desired units using the
drop-down menus before you input the value.
With this tool you can, for example, estimate the lift coefficient of your model
at cruise conditions or during the landing approach. With this
information, you can easily get a feel for the wing performance required by your
aircraft.

Turn Radius Calculator

This freeware program will calculate the turn radius and g-loading for your
model given the bank angle of the aircraft and some basic aircraft
data. You can also calculate the required bank angle for a given
turn radius.
With this tool you can, for example, estimate the lift coefficient of your model
during a 2g turn. If you have an estimate of the maximum CL of your
model's wing, you can easily get a feel for the risk of wing stall during the
manoeuvre.

Radio Control Flight Simulator
Free to use RC flight simulator FlyRC.,
should work well on 486-dx2 class machines and better.
Features:
- 640x480 vga graphics
- Selection of 17 ( and
growing ) different plane designs.
- Directions for designing
your own plane. Rasmus
has instructions online in English and Swedish.
- Keyboard control, and
2 to 4 axis Joystick Control and
- 4 axis control via your RC
transmitter and a simple to build interface( uses 2 resistors and 1
transistor ). If you wish to purchase a cable, pjcowley@hotmail.com
has offered to build and sell cables. More
info here.
- Support program for
debugging transmitter interface setup.
- Simple and effective flight
models. Trainer type characteristics with 3 channel setups. 4 channel flight
models for more advanced flyers. Flight parameters are in easy to edit text
files.
- The README file describes
program operation and changes.
- The RADIO.txt file describes
the radio interface setup.

Model Weight & CG Calculator
If you feel like detailing your model's specific's, you can so using this
program. Insert your radio gear, running gear and model dimensions and your on
your way with this program. It also has a conversion tool if that's all your
after.

Demo Items
The following programs are free to download, but use
restrictions exist.
Ripmax RC Simulator is an
advanced RC training & recreation program for the PC. Choose from any one
of ten flying fields - each one is fully texture mapped and 3 dimensional,
making this, we feel, the most realistic simulator available. The only thing
that isn’t real is that you can control the weather at the flying field.
Every aircraft has been modelled using true physics simulation software, so
it performs and responds just like the real thing. Move aileron, elevator or
rudder controls on the transmitter - see the surfaces move and the model
respond, move the throttle and hear the engine note change as the plane
reacts, and of course fly into something and see the crash damage - happily
the rebuild just takes seconds and costs nothing!
This is a limited version of the program designed to allow you a look at
what RC Simulator has to offer. While all the features are visible, only a
handful are accessible in the demo. Flights are limited to 5 minutes each
while the program itself will expire 15 days after installation.
