Cosmic Angel

 Cosmic dust covers my scars

I have been far away in my dreams

Across the universe to find the answer to the riddle

How does a river find its source?

How does a bird know how to fly?

And why do I smile when I make you cry?

Is it because it shows that you love me?

That even though I have hurt you

I can hold you in my arms

And all will be forgiven

Your smile can lighten my darkest mood

And give meaning to my life

When I am sagging under the daily burden

Of long lonely hours spent up in my room

Waiting for you to return

And you will return, won’t you?

Even though you are on the other side of the galaxy

If I wait long enough you will come back to me

My cosmic angel lost in space

You visited me long ago

And then vanished without trace

Not even a vapour trail by which to follow you

So I will wait here for my love to return

In a flash of blinding light that will find rest

Deep within my soul
