The cover photo of Hurricane Party here says it all - five blokes with long hair, denim waistcoats and sleeveless T-shirts who look like they haven't washed in about a week. Yup, it's official kids - we're back in the realm of no frills balls-to-the-wall HEAVY FUCKIN' METAL DUDE here.
Luckily, Hurricane Party's saving grace is that they're actually quite good. Built on similar lines to Young Heart Attack's excellent "Mouthful Of Love" album, "Get This" is forty minutes of pure riff-tastic action which owes nods to everyone from '70s Aerosmith through Van Halen to Guns 'n' Roses. The guitars shred, the vocals scream and it's all great fun.
Your reviewer heartily recommends listening to this album with a four-pack of cheap 'n' nasty American lager after the pub shuts and the neighbours have gone to bed. At full volume obviously.
