Anyone remember Transvision Vamp? They used to be quite famous a few years back with some minor league punk-pop classics like "Baby I Don't Care" and "Born To Be Sold". Not that anyone's listened to their records much recently mind.
So it seems a bit odd that a good 12 years after ver Vamp's last release to see a comeback album from ex-Vamp frontwoman Wendy James with her new solo project Racine (she plays all the instruments on here). Unfortunately, what could have been a decent reminder of James' undeniable knack with a chantalong chorus and a decent guitar riff instead turns out to be a mildly disappointing collection of second-rate Sleeper and Echobelly soundalike tunes which surely passed their sell-by date some time around 1997. Ah well, them's the breaks kids...
