Private eye, Mike Land, solves mysteries with a little help from his friends, Dave and Willis.

Mike and his two friends, Dave and Willis, are on vacation, and are hanging out at the beach when they spot an attractive brunette (played by Bobbie). Dave cannot seem to get his eyes off of her, and when she gives the guys a look and an alluring smile, Dave thinks for sure that her attention was meant for him. So, he walks over to her. After exchanging a few words with the woman, Dave returns to the guys, admitting that he wasn´t the one she was interested in. Then, Mike, goes over to her to try his luck, but it is Willis that gets lucky. Stephanie Wade, as the beautiful woman is called, spends quite some time talking to Willis, who makes her believe in his bogus story that he is a wealthy man. Dave cannot believe that a woman would choose Willis over him, and questions his manliness which provides many humorous moments. Stephanie turns out to be the daughter of a wealthy man, and invites Willis to go sailing with her on her daddy´s yacht. Only a day after Willis and Stephanie have left shore, Mike receives a video tape with a recording of Stephanie informing him that she has kidnapped Willis, and that she wants $500.000 in ransom, or Willis will not be returned safely. Mike does some investigating, and finds out that after Stephanie´s father cut her off from his money, because he wanted her to go out and earn a living, she has made numerous of serious crimes. However, Stephanie is not the only one involved in Willis´s kidnapping. Her boyfriend, Hank, is in on it as well. Willis, on the other hand, seems to have no idea that he has been kidnapped, and is having the time of his life with Stephane, as a jealous Hank watches the two of them bond. After replaying Stephanie´s video tape over and over again, a sound in the background leads Dave and Mike closer to finding Willis -- so close that they are sent yet another video tape by Stephanie, demanding that they stick to her instructions and leave money tomorrow as directed, or else…… In the meantime, Hank´s jealousy of Willis grows stronger and stronger, until he decides to kill Willis. The next day, Mike and Dave, as ordered, leave a bag of money in a trash can at the pier as specified in the video tape. Then they hide while waiting for it to be picked up. To their surprise, Stephanie comes to pick it up all by herself. Mike and Dave come out from their hiding place just as Stephanie has opened the bag and found paper in it instead of money. As the three of them are having a heated discussion, a shot is fired from Stephanie´s yacht´s direction. Mike, Dave and Stephanie start running towards the yacht. When Mike and Dave find Willis, he is the one holding a gun, and admits that he knew that he had been kidnapped, and that he was going to be killed if his friends didn´t pay ransom. Shortly after that, when Stephanie gets on the yacht as well, she is furious at Hank, and attacks him, but Willis pulls her off of him. In each other´s arms again, Willis and Stephanie kiss. Dave is left still wondering what Willis has that he is lacking.
