Soapsaver:

In the fall of 1996, the CD-ROM/screen saver, 'Soapsaver', was released by Chrystal Chappellīs (known to daytime viewers from such shows as 'Days of Our Lives' and 'One Life to Live') company, Hands On Multimedia. 'Soapsaver' features 13 of the hottest stars in daytime, and besides from Bobbie Eakes, it also features the following actors:

All My Children -- Michael Sabatino
Days of Our Lives -- Peter Reckell and Drake Hogestyn
General Hospital -- Rena Sofer and Wallace Kurth
Guiding Light -- Kim Zimmer
One Live to Live -- Crystal Chappell, Thorsten Kaye and Christopher Douglas
The Young and The Restless -- Melody Thomas Scott, Victoria Rowell and Joshua Morrow

The primary function of 'Soapsaver' is a screen saver, but it has a Q&A section, a biography section, a how-to-get-into-show business section which will give people all kinds of information. It also has several video clips. Chappell pushed for the live videos, and asked each actor what was meaningful to him or her. Bobbie, who has a beautiful home in southern California, said, "What if I put on my Miss Georgia gown and walk into my swimming pool?" -- and she did it! Altogether, 'Soapsaver' features three video clips of Bobbie taking her dog for a walk, Bobbie doing a photo shoot in and near her house, and Bobbie walking into her pool with her Miss Georgia evening gown on! It was a cold, cold day when the pool segment was shot, but Bobbie was a good sport about it, and gracefully stepped into her pool.

A bash to celebrate the release of 'Soapsaver' was held one night at Big Apple hotspot, Denim and Diamonds, a chic country/ western dance club. Soap stars from the east and west coasts were on hand to lend their support, as well as shake a groove thing or two. Bobbie attended the bash with husband David Steen, and both of them enjoyed their brief visit to New York. Bobbie confided that she loves coming east, and always wants to come there for the holidays and see the city all dressed up. She also said how much fun it was to participate in the CD-ROM for her good friend Crystal.
