THE god OF ROCK
by Michael K. Haynes
"THE god OF ROCK" is quite possibly one of the most intriguing anti-rock books ever written. The copy I found-at a thrift shop for a dollar-dates back to 1984, its third edition. It appears to have been published by a relatively minor Christian publishing company, "Priority Ministries," that I think may have been started by Michael Haynes. I will reproduce the entire work here with my own commentary as a document of public psychological and sociological interest-not neccesarily as a document representing what it appears to be talking about, but as the signs of even deeper societal issues at hand. If anyone has any comments, feel free to drop a note.
My commentary on individual chapters will appear after each chapter. My commentary on his chapter, "The Messengers and their Message" will appear after each section. Messages in brackets ([...]) are editorial insertions on my part. Enjoy!
